Ok... It's time for some new rubber on the front! I'm between 3 different tyres and was wondering if you would give me some reviews on them if you have/had them :)

1. Uniroyal Rainsport 2's
2. Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's
3. Falken FK452's

I've heard some things about each of them, just wanted some more opinions - On wet/dry grip and wear rate if possible!

Thanks :D

Had uniroyals on my old mk4. Wet grip is amazing. Hankook suposed to be decent as well, i know a lot of makes fit them as standard now so can't be bad.

You managed to dig out the deflectors yet lol?

Yeah I've had the Rainsport 2's before too... Just thought I'd chuck them in there for some more opinions and comparisons :) Really? I didn't know that about the Hankooks... Suppose that can't be bad!

Yes I have actually mate lol.. Sorry! Got them here whenever you want them :)

With those options I'd go for either the RS2s or the Hankooks.

Heard some horror stories about the 452s!

To be honest Chris, those 2 have the edge for me too. I don't really want to scrimp on tyres though (As the saying goes, it's the only thing stopping you from going into a ditch).. And want something that people can vouch can handle some power.

Completely agree Mick.

What size do you need? 225/40/18? Depends how much you have to spend but based on that size Dunlop Sportmaxx TTs can be had for just ~£10 more a corner

can offer opinions on two mick

Uniroyals : excellent in the wet but are very soft compound and often wear very unevenly

Falken : had on the Ibiza value for money, very hard compound don't wear, as to grip no the greatest tbh especially in the wet

235/40/18. Don't really have a budget Chris, but would obviously prefer not to spend stupid money just for a name

Cheers Robo. So you'd probably say the Uniroyals then? Looks like they are in the lead....

Don't know where you're looking at for prices Mick, but I'm finding the Hankooks at £129 per corner fitted versus £146 fitted for the Uniroyals.

With a price difference like that and good reviews the Hankooks would be tempting me! Be a close call though because I know how good the Uniroyals are :(

Mee personally a would avoid Uniroyals never been a fan of them, folk swear by them but a have my reasons:
(back in my fast-fit days wee youst to send rainsport 1s back the distributors cause ove the wear problems eventually there was a tech bulleting about a compound problem months later). May not be the cause with the new rs2s but....

value for money
Falkens
Kumho Ecsta
pushing the boat out
Toyo Proxes
Pirrel p-zero (non rossos would not pay the funny money for them unless yer flush fir cash lol)
michlien pilot sports (alot of money but will last the distance)

I'd get the Hankooks at £122 each fitted, against the RS2's at £130 each fitted. Tough decision like you say, as I've heard good things about both!

I don't really rate Toyos very well on wear rate mate.. I had T1Rs and they lasted less than 10k, and Proxes 4 which lasted a little longer.

I've got Michelin Pilot Sport 3's on just now, but I'm looking at £175 each fitted for those. Just wondered if there was any other's that were just as good, but without paying for the name!

What you driving like lol? I've had mine on for 8k and there's not much wear, maybe 3mm (T1rs)

Yeah I know mate, 10K and that was on a 1.2 Corsa... Don't want to know how long they'd last on the Megane

How do you rate the Rossos?
