misfire after cone filter installation

Hi guys,

today I have fitted my new forge dumpvalve and a cone air filter and breather filter. After fitting them I took the car out and it was fine.

iv just gone out to the car again and started it up and its misfiring, could fitting a cone filter cause it to miss?

I once changed my Airfilter - I started to get some big misfires - and it turnt out to be that id put the MAF on the wrong way around! It might be worth double checking that it is the right way around. Other than that its prob going to be Coilpacks.

I know its not the coil packs and the maf is in the right way, scanned her and says an air leak somewhere

On my old mk4 golf turbo it used to play up like this when i added a cone filter, it was simpily sucking too much air thru, it was a cheap filter tho.
Try puting oem airbox/filter back on and then you will know if its the filter or not.

Check the pipes on the DV are ok and the MAF is tight as well. Only takes a small air leak to throw the car into issues.

will a snap on diagnostics show up air leeks even tho there is no engine managment light on ?

If it detects an air leak and stores a fault then yes. Not all engine faults will put the EML on.
