Did any of the mk2 biza/cordoba's have twin fan rads (a la Inca)? If so did the hose bosses on them sit in front of the starter motor or were they all on the alternator side? (a la Inca). If so does anyone know of a twinfan rad' that sits on the other side and is the same size as the ones intended for the above vehicles - trying to find one to fit in the front panel factory style but with bosses that exit on the correct side for my VR6.

cheers:)

ABF 16v one has twin fans, and sits as above, gearbox side

Thanks mork:)

Is it the same type of fan setup (i.e separate power feeds) or does it have the multiplug on the back of one of the fans and belt drives the other?

BUGGER[:@]

Space is a bit tight for one I think.......need to find one breaking though to be sure:blink: :)

just angle it better, there's loads of forward room, you just need to adapt the mounts a little

shunt the rad forwards to where you 'need' it to be (with the fans in situ) and fabricate some mounts to support the rad where you need it to sit.

Might need to do some adjusting of the slam panel to get it in, but you should make an easy couple of inches

 Thats what I thought you meant. Once I've found the rad/fans that you mentioned I'll see what I can do about shoehorning the thing in - just gutted that the inca/vario ones that I've found have the hoses the wrong way round:cry:

It may be possible to use the ABF - intended rad that has the hoses on the gearbox side with the later fans. I have two sets of the fans (on rads which are both too big), I just need a rad.

Good thinking that man[B)]

im using ABF rad and mk3 ibiza 20vt fans and cowling on mine (20vt fans have seperate motors and one is slimer than the big ass 16v fan)

something else to note that may/may not effect you

non air con ABF uses a smaller rad and single fan where as air con version uses bigger rad and twin fan, this gave me problems when i was doing my 20vt conversion as the front panel is welded differently to accept larger/smaller rad

possible alternative use renault/citroen/kenlowe? fans that are pretty much flush mounted to the front on their own frame or a made up one - some kenlowe blow fans are only 2" tall

ABF rad (a/c) has the belt so is 1 fan with 2 blades but uses a twin speed sensor

either way dont forget fan blades/direction is important as they are designed as either pull / push

if you are running an f2 bumper make sure you have a lower guide in there as the air just rushes past if you dont and raises temp a good 10 degrees

1.4 Ibiza with AC has the same rad setup as the Cuprasport, exits that side with one motorized fan and one powered by the belt. THe radiator is the same size as the 1.8 widthways, but may be a bit thinner.

Dunno how many 1.4s youl find with Ac in Blighty, there are plenty down under

Golf 3 VR6 radiator is the same, but doesnt have the pins on the bottom. A little bracket manufacturing and you should be right. Thats what I did for my conversion.

cheers for that - I'm aware of the different spacing of brackets on the front panel (I've got a couple from inca's and caddy's) but I didn't know about the rad - size differences. :)
