The record is for FWD, so the Cupra R is going to be FWD, I don't think so. When Auto Express revealed last year that SEAT where thinking of a Cupra R , to have more power than the new Cupra, that was before the Cupra 280 appeared, in effect the then Cupra R was renamed 280.

Latest is 300bhp or maybe bit more with 4 wheel drive

With only 300 bhp the extra weight of 4WD, would make it slower, SEAT stated this to Auto Express recently, and have no plans to do that. The current 280 has been found when stuck on rolling roads to have nearer 298 than 276 bhp anyway. If a 4WD Cupra was on the cards AE would have some knowledge and pics of same. Lets see a pic or link to some car mag with those details, and I may be more interested.

Seat CEO said couple of times that there will not be an R in the near future.
Reason: value for money can only be accomplished with fwd and not with 4wd.
Oh and I disabled the soundactuator with VAGcom in cupra mode and happily this childish sound has gone.

Wasn't meant offensive ha ha.
Just don't like it, it doesn't come close to a real special exhaust.
See you are from Edinburgh, was there 4 weeks ago visiting a customer and friend.
Had then beautiful weather.

No offense taken bud, The weather has been no bad for Scotland of late.:D

I recently visited the factory in Barcelona early June. When I had the tour round the factory, production lines and the train station etc.

They showed us SEAT's plans for the next 3 years and a Cupra R was never mentioned so I don't expect to see anything on this until around 2017 - 18

So god knows what you have seen or heard but it wasn't from SEAT.

Unless the admins from this site know more?..

Can you post or pm me the instructions, please?

I reckon the 280 is the Cupra R. If you think about it, both the last iterations of Leon have had a Cupra and a Cupra R which were similar cars with different power outputs. That's what we have now, except they're called 265 and 280 instead. As stated above, the 'ring record is for FWD cars, so an AWD model would be ineligible. I don't think SEAT will go for the record again, I reckon they were just setting a baseline for the MQB cars and that a special edition Golf GTI will go for it next.

I ordered a Cupra 280, 5 door with a manual box. Got a substantial discount at the dealers, which even with all my options worked out cheaper than the list price.

Opted for Emocion Red. How long has everyone been waiting for the car to be built and delivered, as the dealer reckons on 2 months.

:D
