H1 = H1 Philips Vision Plus 50% bulbs (pair)
H3 = H3 Philips Blue Vision Bulbs (pair)
501 = 501 LED Super Bright White
already have
H7 = H7 Ring Ultra Xenon bulbs (pair)

Well mine definitely have a wire lead off the back which would rule out H1 and my owners manual says H3 for double reflector lights?

Have you read through the thread? This has already been discussed and sorted out. The ABD website is correct !

What year is it? I know someone with a mk4 and it had H1 and H7s in the headlights

So some website says H1s are used - they know better than Seat do they?
So is the Seat owners manual definitely wrong then?

Just looked on ElsaWin and it lists H3 for mains too?

I stand corrected just checked another site and says H3s and i've gone back and read through this thread again and seen that I did have it the wrong way round.

Best drop an email to auto bulbs then!

Well my 2003 Ibiza Owners manual states that the main beam are H3
I presume it's right unless its a misprint
My own car certainly is NOT currently fitted with H1

easiest thing would be take your bulbs out and have a look, i did,
h7 dipped
h3 main
h3 fogs

My manual says-

Single reflector headlamps:

• full/dipped beam 12v 60/55W H4
• indicator 12V/PY 21W
• position lamp 12/W5W

Double reflector headlamps:

• dipped beam 12V/55W H7
• full beam 12v/55W H3
• indicator 12V/PY21W
• position lights 12V/W5W

I have an '07 FR PD130 (so i guess thats what the manual is for)....I hope that clears it up a little

yup i've got the wrong bulbs, they are H3's on main beam so i just left my fogs standerd for now, i know someone who has H1's so i can sell em on so no biggy,
took about 20 min to change two main beam and one sidelight and an 1h 10min for the second sidelight but there all changed now and look v. good, just wondered though on the led501's i got it says that bulb life is not garenteed, but autobulbs also sent me some 501 w5w bulbs that i did not order and are not on the invoice, do you think they're a free'bee because the leds are unreliable

They usually send "Blue Look" (what a load of rubbish" free 501's now, so they match up with your dipped beams.

Unfortunately the LED sidelights are crap too - even China's finest! They have terrible onboard voltage regulators that either dont regulate properly (made for 12 instead of 14.4 which the alternator produces) and/or they get so hot the de-nature the LED - either way they start to flicker and will attract Police attention without you even knowing!

If you want to stay with Halogens you'll need to change both mains and dipped. Sounds like you've done H7 (dipped) but still need to do H1s (Main). I would go for Osrams or Philips to be honest for halogens and for maximum light you'll need 4300/6000k HIDs.

Just so you know.....

The 4,300K lamps will be a cool white light.
The 6,000K lamps will be a daylight light.

The thing to look out for between lamp types if you want the brightest lamps is the initial lamp lumens, basically the higher this is the brighter the light output.

Additionally it would be worth looking at the lamp life hours, as you don't want to be changing them too often, you really want to be looking for something above 10,000 hours if not in the 20,000 hours region if you don't want to be messing about with lamps all the time.

from autobulbs they give out free "gifts" if u spend over a certain sum of money with Every order to do with bulbs or not.... i hope they change the led's to 14.4v because it is quite annoying!! i have led sidelights and interior and so far i need to re-change the sidelights due to a failiure... :S
