Yep, it's easy.
DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY!!!!!!!
Move steering wheel fully out and fully down, remove steering collumn trim and instument cluster trim. Then remove the cluster, there are 2 large multi plugs on the back of it.

Personally I think my brothers intermittent fuel gauge was a
problem with one of the chips in the cluster as aposed to a dry solder joint, I must have resoldered every possible joint.
