i doubt it lol

Its such a shame my car isnt working right now :)

But there is one thats coming that is working right ;)

You coming in your Type R to the meet... lol!

Nah, they are nice cars, just like most on here the reason I dont have one, is I dont want to feel like im thrashing a car to get the best out of it all the time

They arent slow, and have a very nice interior. On that point, its on a different level to our Ibiza's

Nice choice of car - although I went the other way from a CTR to my Cupra TDI. Horses for courses, but I prefer the delivery of the Ibiza in everyday driving - the CTR is a great car when you're in the mood for it. And 8k revs in a tunnel with the windows down can't be argued with

But put the same standard of driver in a CTR and a diesel Ibiza (130 or 160) and the CTR will be quicker on road or track if you're driving on the limit. I know because I still attend meets with a Type R club up here. On tighter, twisty roads I was definately quicker, but when the roads opened up or got bumpier the CTRs/ITRs/ATRs were certainly quicker. And that was against the same drivers I'd previously been able to keep up with when I had my CTR.

But I still prefer my Ibiza because in most situations it's quicker and offers more thrills.

please dnt turn against me guys, i went to the richard alexander garage at huddersfield to get a leon and they were a55holes with me and i my cheque book with me but they were aragent, so i went to sb honda to have a look and i came out with a type r, i did want a seat but the dealer pissed me off so i got my head up my arse lol and took my money else where

Quite right too. The CTR is a fantastic car. I think the point that people are trying to make is that on general British Roads, the way it deploys its power is
not ideal. It really needs a race track or a 'private' A road! to really show its abilities. As an example, I used to have a Suzuki Ignis Sport VVTi which was pretty nippy when thrashing it, however, in normal driving conditions, it could never outrun our Altea TDi 105 bhp. :-o

yeah i see what ya saying but im happy with what ive bought, and its a big step for me from a 1.2s

For the sake of getting this thread to the scrapyard, I had a bit of a spat with a new civic Type R this morning. In an environment with tightish corners and straights, the CTR cannot compete with the grunt of a remapped FR tdi. The Ibiza was more than a match for the Civic, as obviously the Honda had no way of really deploying its Vtec. Bit pointless for crowded British roads if you ask me.

I would imagine that the CTR would kick the Ibizas butt on a racetrack though!

You should be! Very nice cars as I also said! Shame about the seat garage, you should have tried Ted Johnsons their service side is ok, sales arent great tho imho.

As said before the interior on a CTR is a world above the Ibiza!

If im honest ive never been out in a CTR, your still welcome at the meets matey, aslong as you take me for a spin :p
