Ive done this two, easy mod and looks great, could then move airfilter and fit in oil catch tank nicely. All i did was run one cable from starter motor to boot carefully for positive, then one cable from starter to the fuse box that was originally on the battery, a good earth to chasis of car in boot from negative on battery, and modifed the old fuse box so i could bolt it where the battery used to sit.

Just to confirm that live cable is coming from the starter motor?

PhilW- it is toughened battery cable from a automotive shop, yea thinks it 2AWG its huge, and other people use 4AWG which is thinner so im ok

Kyle'87 - Yea as phil said the main live bar on the fuse box needs to go to the starter, and the live from the battery, if you trace back the old live coming from the battery it will just go about half a meter down onto a bolt on the starter, it has a plastic protective cap on the end of the bolt!

Glad to be of help, just the main thing I was careful about, just make sure you run the live cable neatly and safely, like where i drilled a whole for it to run through use rubber grommits and make sure nothing will cut through it.

Im looking to get my wires and stuff together tommrow to do this, just wondering will i need to get some new 'O' rings to connect the wire to the starter motor? If so what kind of size?

And just the clarifiy, all i have to do with the fuse box is connect the existing wire from the back of the fuse box to the starter motor? What happens to the metel strap thats under the cover on the fues box which connects to the live terminal?

And i`d like to move the fuse box into the wing out of site, would it just be a matter of extending the the wire? If so do they make joiners for that kind of thing, and what sort of wire would be used to join them?

Will i need a distribution block when do ing it this way?

Will i need a
Extend the ground to tyhe boot? You got a negatibe terminal on your battery mate, short piece of cable to a good clean point in your boot will do. :D

Only need one cable to the boot.

Your making this way too complicated.

Easiest way is to run one cable from the battery direct to the starter motor and earth the battery in the boot. Thats it.

Electrics is nowhere near my best subject :D
