Fords are **** dood! Feels like you're driving on a matress or something, dangerous on the motorway, constantly just bounces you out of your lane, and understeers to a ridiculous level at sub 20mph.. Then with the throttle being super unresponsive and the brakes having an either 'on' or 'off' setting... ugh, terrible drive!
Anyway.
The inspector has seen the car this morning, they're going to have a go at making it right without respraying (presumably other than the 2 rear doors where there plainly isn't a thick enough coat of paint on). Presume they'll just machine polish the rest which it's claimed this will take no lacquer off, but the whole point of machine polishing is to take the lacquer off to an extent whereby there are no swirls.
Wish I'd just had the roof vinyl wrapped black now. Rest of the paint was in decent condition. Could have bought a second car for the money I spent on the paint and had it for fun.

It's had an independent assessor look at it which probably holds more weight than a detailer to be fair.

Had it back today.
Paint thickness looks ok from what I can see - although it was returned in a pretty dusty state so i'm not entirely ready to say it's ok.
However, the swirling is still present all over and it looks pretty terrible. Excitement was killed within 15 seconds of arriving to pick it up.
Gonna clean it up soon, but there appears to be a very strange texture to the paint too.

looks like its come back worse than it went in before it got sprayed.

Mate this seems like it could end up as an ongoing struggle, After the money paid I would ask myself 1 thing - "Is it to the standard I have paid", clearly not as they look to be rushing the 'finishing' of it.
Is the paint matched and to a good thickness because if it is I would be making this following arrangement - A full correction detail at there expense otherwise your going trading standards.

i can gaurentee you 90% of all the above can be fixed by a simple polish, people are way to quick to judge when it comes to paint, as per the pm i sent you the car needs to sit six weeks before it can be hit hard enough to not get any drop back, if you buy a brand new car you can cause scratching in the paint by wiping a dirty rag on it, thats relitively old paint too , yours is still very fresh, when people get fresh paint work the think that its going to come out factory fresh, and its not always possible, factories are clinically clean computer operated machines to get rid of any human error, a human painter will put on 2/3 times more paint than any computer, that was the reason they faded in the first place.

i dont understand what going to trading standards will do though??? is that to suggest getting money back? i think they have been accomodating in that they took the car back and aknowlagded the faults, if your still not happy then suggest that perhaps they offer to pay for a full buff off a more 'detiling' based polisher rather than a body shop polisher, but that would then be the end of any come backs

jake -- they've been accomodating, however the worksmanship is just poor. There's still bits of the paint following a clean today that aren't right. The swirls I will either deal with myself, a couple of days of hard work should suffice, or take it to a detailer -- door handle doesn't work and wing mirror are loose too - now I know I can fix both of these myself but when I've paid for it I expect it done, and done right!

Their offer to polish was withdrawn having spoken to the MD, who refuses to believe there's any issue (even though he accepted it early on in the call), even though there's runs in the paint, badly fitted trim and the swirls all over it..
Basically 'because the inspector said so' -- even though their guy at the shop agreed when we took it back that it wasn't right and needed more work.

so whats your options now bud, i would still reccomend going to see some one who will polish it, baring that little bit on the quarter i would say it will come out well
