Ah I thought you meant a big big turbo!

I have been playing with engines since I was about 15 so I have a bit of confidence. Although the 1.8t is very much a learning curve for me.
There is a very big difference between putting an engine together and putting an engine together right. (as I have found out from the last muppet who built my engine lol)

Best advice I can give if its your first time is take your time and check everything twice.

You will need to know all the tolerances for the engine so you can check if anything is overly worn or knackered completely, and have the right tools for the job to make your life alot easier!

Its all good fun though mate :) Best of luck

Thanks for that mate no doubt ill be asking for some advice soon about something
Iv never really looked into a big big turbo as I thought they were mega bucks

Great thread mate, just read it all :) I live just down the road from you (truro), havnt seen you around though!

Best advice I'd give you if you're doing it for the first time is get opinions from more than one place before make major decisions and have the confidence to just give it a go. Message me if you need any specific details, I have certain measurements which might be handy.

Thanks mate never seen you about either

Where did you get them mate you got a link?
Also when removing the air-con what belt do I need and can I just unbolt the bit attached to the bulkhead and just remove that??
Would you remove the secondary air pump to??

No link - I bought direct from VT themselves. I haven't actually removed the whole lot just the main pipe so not sure on what belt to get.

You can do what I did and remove the pipes are the bulkhead yeah - it's high pressure gas and extremely toxic stuff too so don't go breathing it it.

I removed mine ages ago now - I would do it yes, clears up the bay.
