i feel like a right n00b looking at your pics, i'm quite good with cars and always thought the 20v was a 5cylinder (4 valves per cylinder) but then seeing the open engine realised that it is actually a 4 cylinder, with 5 valves per cylinder!

well i haven' really done much research on the 20vt!

its coming along nicely now mate, can't wait to see what power outputs it gets, going to be mad quick!

You are right, some of the 20v engines are 5 cylinder. The S3 engine is a 5 cylinder engine.

Thanks for the comments guys, can't wait to get it running again

Engine is finally off the stand and has a gearbox bolted to it, car is being towed to the workshop tonight and i'll be making a start on the install friday

All being well it will be running by sunday :)

LOving the work you're doing on this. Hope all goes well for you. You're certainly moving a long nicely now though.

Is there a misses who is loving your work and absense during dinner, evening and only sees you drop dead tired in bed? Just as much as mine does so many days? lol

It's alive!!

Got the car up and running this afternoon :D only covered a few miles but all seems okay at the moment, hopefully it will get a run out a bit later but i'm using it on trade plates at the moment so don't want to go to far.

Tomorrow i'm going to give it all another check over and a clean up as it's cover in dust.

Will try and post some pics once i'm done

Good to hear its running again, did it start first time? Notice much difference yet?
