Hi Mate,
Before you go too far with the project, speak with Andy from Autotechnica in Hull (01482 353 369) also for reference please see our full build thread:
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=395730
He is the man to help you with your build, he turned my MK2 Cupra R into an AWD monster!
We are now sponsored by REVO and Milltek Sport given the high profile of the project.
We will soon be taking our Cupra down to REVO's HQ for some serious tuning treatment by their head of technical REVO Kev.
We also have a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/QuattroCupra

Regarding the date on the engine, could it be a new engine that was fitted at a later stage? Or could your car be on a private '10 plate and actually be a year younger?
Hi Josh,
Awesome, look forward to seeing your progress. Just in case you hadn't seen the thread since the weekend, we've updated it with the latest episode (Stage 4 Build) if you go to page 5 about 3/4 way down the page you'll find us there

To say I'm fuming is a understatement, risking my and other road users safety. Then risking totalling my car!

Hi Josh, bad news mate, can highly recommend the REVO engine mounts if you need an alternative solution.
Blimey! Not that there is a good time, but I hope it didnt go at a really bad time!
Think it was just bad luck buddy, hopefully the replacement will be fine. I'm guessing they aren't going to charge you for the new one?
Main thing is though it didn't cause you to have a crash and get hurt in the process.
I wouldnt personally trust another 034 engine mount myself you was lucky this time but the next time could be serious.
Not only that but its not the first time 034 have produced inferior products take for example there exhaust manifolds they were selling a few years ago for the k03s and k04 they cracked pretty rapidly and created a lot of problems for the company selling them.
I dont want to bad mouth a company as im sure they have made some good products im just making you aware and i hope the new engine mount doesnt fail for you again.
