Yeah definately...i cant really explain how its going to look, ive just got this picture in my head that i cant get out till its done lol you'll just have to keep looking as i go along!

Anyway yeah it is a head turner lol wont see it alot at the moment, maybe when the weather gets better, suprised you havent seen it before though as i live in northfield aswel!

As for the scrapyard, its my Dads mates one on Landor Street but they are only meant to crush seized uninsured cars etc but as we know him he sorts me out now and again...his sons got an Ibiza aswel so he keeps them on one side incase we need anything but ive just had the last of the parts!

What do you need though as i might be able to sort you out?

well i need a drivers side glove box
the rear boot black strip (you know the one that says SEAT on the left, and IBIZA on the right) as someone nicked mine
and also Strut Top Mounts & Lower Mounts for the rear suspension (including the metal long washer thing that goes inbetween the lower mounts)

and if they can all the bump stops for front and back (sorry about the massive list, alot has gone wrong recently, made me fall out of love with my car, but slowly falling back for it )

where in northfield you live? i live not far from Great Park (you know the new estate just off frankly beeches/tessell lane)?

Anyway considering everything i've got i cant really help you there...i may be able to sort you a glove box but as for the bushes etc your probably better off getting new ones!

I live like opposite the Black Horse...My mate with a yellow mk3 cupra lives round by you though!

ok cool, i think i found most the suspension parts at rowley auto's in cov, they got a red gti in, so going to go on a scavenge one the days lol
let me know about the glove box though, can you make sure the clips are not broken (as i have one, but both the clips are broke )

oh really brummy? its just the drivers side, i think it said ibiza on it, some pikey stole it when i parked in a dodgy area at uni!
let me know how much you'd want for it!
also my suspension might be for sale soon, i will let you know nearer the time if your still interested mate (as you get first dibbs on it, as you wanted them before)

As far as i can remember, i've stripped 3 or 4 cars for parts for mine so i've lost track but im bound to have set somwhere!
You after the whole top mount setup thats inside and outside of the car?

He's had loads of problems with that car...he was selling it last time i spoke to him!

yeah the top mount, and the other mount that sits below the chassis (like sandwiched between the spring disc and the car)
there called bearing rings on the official diagram lol

oh yeah and theres a metal spacer that slides inbetween the lower bearing ring, its quite long, about and inch and a half!

Alright mate...only managed to find one spare top mount that goes on the underside of the turret, sure i had more somewhere though so when i look for the glovebox ill look for them there! As for the long washers they should be attached to the suspension strut already shouldnt they?

Right time for a little update...not too much happening so far, just been slowly stripping parts off the 2 subframes after work and getting ready to split the hubs etc!

Ibiza subframe at the top, VR6 at the bottom.

This week should be seperating the hubs and shafts, splitting the hubs to see if i can build a hybrid hub setup lol along with trying to adapt the abs rings. Might end up buying new 4 stud Ibiza abs rings though if its too much hassle...anyone have any idea how much new abs rings are?

Next week im hoping to fully strip my car of everything inside it ready to start the bit of welding in the floor pan and laying the new loom and carpets etc.

Then the existing subframes coming out after measuring kerb heights and any other measurements ready for a trial fit of the VR6 subframe, wishbone, suspension and hub package so we can check the geometry isn't going to be affected too much if we use the whole VR6 front end. So far i can only see its about an inch wider in total but time will tell

oh really? well the spacers do sit on top of the dampers shaft, but fits inbetween the lower mount, and thats what's fluffed on mine!

hi there

i'm doing a similar project. Bought an ibiza on november 08 with the engine ruined, a 97 1.4 16v 100bhp 5 door GT model, first i was going to get it fixed to sell and earn some, but then i realised i had to do an engine replacement and i could not escape from getting something a little bigger, so i bought a complete vr6 engine with gearbox dials etc

I'm not using vr6 parts as u are, i used corrado G60 transmissions, hubs brakes, for the rear i'm replacing the entire axel for a mk2 golf gti one with mk4 calipers (mk2 have some issues)

Already have the engine in place, sorting some things out, electricals almost done, need new alloys to fit the brakes in (on the stock 14"s they dont fit) installed vr6 dials on the dashboard the last weekend as the stock just had the scale up to 220Km/h and that's kinda low as the stock vr6 does the 260km/h it promises

I will have to do a full exaust of course, i will have no cats, maybe i will fit some good headers, already have some aggressive cams to install too

Looking to do about 220bhp when ready.

Then i will see if i like the car, if not i will sell it, i have alredy my pocket beast, the 92 polo squareback with g40 heart

Keep up the good work, will see who finishes first ! I think here in portugal i will be the only one having a mk2 6cil ibiza, may be the only 6cil ibiza tbh
