Is your bumper absolutely smashed? Just had a thought, if you could salvage your headlight washers from your bumper, then cut a hole in the new bumper and fit them to it?

Should have put your 1.2 back to standard before you sold it, you'd have a spare bumper now!

after a confusing conversation with the stealers...as they couldnt understand what i ment by 'headlight washers' they quoted me £160aprox, so need to get the paint out :)

just reading a thread on a different forum of a PD100 Skoda Fabia and after alot of ££££ & time its now running nearly 300bhp (massive engine work & transmission work), however this got me thinking..

I want to get the ibiza running 200bhp - the things ive thought of doing to get it there are the usual type of things... EGR Delete Kit (from forge that i may buy in a minute ;)), Full Miltek decat, Pipercross induction kit, Revo Remap & when i can afford it a FMIC.

But to ensure i get all 200bhp down i was then looking at the drivetrain etc...LSD? after reading the 300bhp fabia thread and how he said regardless if its on the track or road...any corner puts his foot down and boom...gone - now thats what im after. At the moment with the 130bhp it does spin up in corners, so im guessing a LSD would sort this?

Obvious other mods i want to do/have to do to be able to get this power are bigger brakes (S3 or TT), coilover kit & uprated clutch (race or compition?)

Just need some advice as although i can get my head around modifications things like gearboxes, difs and getting good reliable power im still learning about....so any advice/wisdom/information shall be greatly appriciated :)

A stage 2 PD130 will be around the 190 - 200 BHP mark. If your target is 200bhp, then i wouldn't worry about an LSD. The 2.0TFSI (not S3) A3 has 200BHP and is front wheel drive, it doesn't really have a problem cornering.

You could just get better tyres on it, with spacers, RARB, and a good set of coilovers then you wont have a problem with 200BHP.

I don't think getting 200bhp will be possible on a standard turbo and if you were to get it itl not last long. I would also get a better clutch and smf aswell. Ditch the idea of getting a pipercross induction kit just get a PD160 intake and a decent panel filter. As for brakes type in eBay 312mm Audi there's a guy who sells the full kit for £250.

I was under the impression (from info from here) that the standard PD130 Turbo was good for 200bhp.

If not you can always get a PD150 turbo from a leon, they're usually knocking around ebay.

Or go all out and go big turbo :)

You would really be pushing the turbo to the limits hybrid PD150 turbos are normally recommended to around 240bhp so I couldn't imagine a PD130 lasting long at 200bhp not even sure if anyone would map the car to run that high tbh.

Have a look at this thread mate http://www.ibiza oc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7026

Remove the space between 'Ibiza' and 'OC'

Yeah just kinda sums up what I said, my mate has a PD150 which is mapped up to 190bhp but everyone I've spoke to says there laggy and the PD130 feels alot more responsive.

I defo wouldn't waste spending £300+ for a second hand PD150 turbo for it to be more laggy during the gears but have a little more top end.

Time to go big turbo or Hybrid I say.

so the general impression im getting is that the turbo will more than likely give way if i start running 200bhp? so the options are -

A) PD150 Leon Turbo?
B) Hybrid Turbo
C) Big turbo?

So after trying to find out what a hybrid turbo is i now need someone to explain what the hell one is?!

Also what would you guys reccomend for a good coilover kit?

If you go big turbo then you're talking pretty big money!

PD150 is the cheapest option, but i think i read that they're only good for a little more than the PD130.

And i'd disagree, i'd go for the full induction kit. A new filter will probably give you gains of 2bhp?

A well placed filter on the end of a cold air feel with a heat shield in a place with good cold air flow can give you up to 6bhp maybe? Not to mention colder intake temps and reduced chance of heat soak.

to get a genuine 200bhp you will need a hybrid turbo. A hybrid turbo is basically the same core unit with upgraded and stronger internals so it can handle more power than the OEM unit. At least thats the way I understand it

A pd150 turbo will be good for around 205bhp on the rollers so in real terms that will translate to about 190-195bhp depending on the rest of the mods.

I will be doing exactly this so as of the end of the month i will have my PD150 turbo, Piper turbo back exhaust, complete with custom map all fitted. I have enough I will be having a clutch fitted at the same time, and I've been quoted around 190bhp and about 320ft/lb torque once its all on. then it will require the FMIC to get the intake temps down to be able to hold the power for longer.

what would you reccomend for a panel filter then? KN or??

Green cotton I found amazon was the cheapest place. I wouldn't even consider a PD150 on a standard map itl just be really laggy do you'll have to get it remapped to get the most of it which will only be 10bhp max but still props wouldn't pull as good.

If you've got £3500 spare go big turbo!

If not a hybrid will still cost around 2+k basically it's the standard turbo bored out big and new interals put in.

on a standard map a pd150 tubby will overboost and needs to be mapped in order to actually use it properly without causing problems.

That sounds about right, and probably the best way to go about it. You'll definately need a clutch like Phil though, the standard one won't take that power.

I'd get the power mods before deciding if you want to go for an LSD. I've got one on the Meg, and I can really notice it when cornering at speed, there's no slip at all and it just grabs you round the corner - But if I was you, like I said, I'd get the power first then decide if you want (need) one :)
