so some of you are saying go for a PD160 intake & good filter while others are saying for a induction kit? (you lot are bloody confusing...i just want a good power gain with reliable power - dont we all!)

& the general impression im getting is that if i get a PD150 turbo off a leon ill need to get it mapped to stop massive lag? (correct?) however this is a cheaper option for bigger power and more reliable turbo power rather than screwing the PD130 turbo up when running the top end of 190/200bhp?

but if the money was no object then get a hybrid? (i would if i had the cash)

Think of it this way

170bhp - £350
200bhp - another £1,500 (PD150, FMIC, TBE)
220+bhp - another £2,500- £3,000 (BT, FMIC, TBE)

PD160 intakes are a waste of money! So over rated! £90+ for one new! £80+ for second hand!

For that money you can get a good induction kit with proven gains that looks way better than an over priced piece of plastic!

Well after talking to a few people it sounds like getting a pipercross with a cold air feed is the best way to go as this method is really good for the VAG PD130 units.

So bonus time will mean induction kit, remap (+ 2 dyno runs) and egr delete & possibly tints if I can afford it after the front end damage work

What insurance co are you with and how much do they charge you when you declare all these mods?

Mine want a fortune to cover a remap, are you with a specialist company?

Standard airbox and paper filter running my hybrid, and many others too!

No way on earth will an induction kit give 6bhp on these engines!

Seen a couple of green cotton panels fall apart so I wouldn't want to go down that route either.

cheers for all the advice guys, taking it all on board and seeing my options..so dont think your comments arent appricated!! as they are!!

however its that time of year again where its service time. Best oil for a PD130??

had an awesome day at santa pod :) did a few drag runs ;)

times & speeds were -

Run 1 - 17.21sec 1/4mile @ 83.18mph (TCS OFF)
Run 2 - 16.56sec 1/4mile @ 83.18mph (TCS ON) <- very close race with a BMW 3 Series 'M Sport' ;)
Run 3 - 16.42sec 1/4mile @ 84.73mph (TCS ON)
Run 4 - 16.37sec 1/4mile @ 85.22mph (TCS ON)

now for a standard 130bhp diesel, not only in need of a service but also had just done a trip down with a full car of people & gear (which was emptyed out) i was pretty pleased :)

further update - EGR Delete kit from Forge arrived today so thats fitted and wired up to the boost gauges ;)

very happy ibiza owner today :) remap is also booked in for the 10th :D

Strictly speaking, your plates aren't legal as they don't display the plate producer at the bottom.. So expect to be pulled and perhaps carry your legal plates in the car with you just incase..

Love the carbon vinyl on the number plate recess though!

plates were from a van :)lol:) at the fast car show @ santa pod :)

& problem :( EGR pipe (the bit that connects the EGR Valve to the exhaust) has split so my car is down on power & hissing :( any ideas where i can get one or is it a dealer job? :(

basically the 'Exhaust Gas Recooperator Cooler' aka the pipe that needs replacing costs just short of 300quid from the stealers :(

& sam what do you mean?
