Marksy did the filter do anything to the engine or even make it sound slightly different?

well i've got the Pipercross induction kit & tbh i havent really driven the car with it because the EGR cooler died before i could really test the kit. but i have driven the ibiza before with a kit on it + also a vrs with a similar kit and it makes the engine feel more responsive.

noise - gives it a louder turbo whistle and i can now make my car have that 'hiss' when changing gear and also make it sound like a dump valve is fitted

if that all makes sense :) enjoying the new ride??

well in all fairness i miss my 1.2, such an awesome little car but so happy with the FR now :) mainly because the PD130 engines are so easy to mod & gain big power from :)

The EGR delete is a very good mod, however if like me your EGR cooler pipe had a tiny hole in it :( then the cause of increased pressure will just make it blow. When i get the new cooler i'm going to re fit it with the EGR valve on i think and then get a blanking plate made, unless i can sort it out before.

**UPDATE**

as the car is in my garage all parked up i thought i may aswell give her some TLC, so the rear has be debadged (only the I B I Z A) and the entire interior has had a full clean - still need to attack it with a wet vac

the outside will be getting done when the weather is better :)

You don't hang around do you lmao. I average 47-49 around town lol. I do drive sensibly tho. I'm peeved cause it's dropped to 47.2 lol.

Did your emissions light come on when you had it done?

By removing the egr I got the eml on but that was the only thing :)

Yea that's the one. Although I heard a map can sort that? I'm looking into getting a decat full exhaust soon and I seen that blue flame one but says its only for 1.8? It looked like a good price too at only £287.

Yea that's what I want but I really can't see me spending about 800 on one cause I will be wanting the hi flo one downpipe too. What sort of mpg difference did you see with the induction kit? Also have you enquired about how much it would cost to get a company to make a silicon hose the exact shape of your blown one? Surely cheaper than stealers?

quick thought - if i fit ad block the new egr cooler without a remap, howevre block it at both the egr inlet & also the egr cooler inlet dya think they would reduce the chance of it blowing until i sort the remap??

would the blocked inlet into the egr cooler just allow the gases to be bypassed into the exhaust rather than being diverted off?

The egr cooler I've sent you has the smaller gaskets fitted to it already so it will help with the hesitation and does flow better. In terms to putting in a blanking plate, I really don't know to he honest with you, if the car detects an egr flow discrepancy it will throw on an eml light onto the dash as it did with my car time and time again for about 4 months until I changed the parameters with VAG-com

Have you received the cooler then?

VAG-com is one of the pieces of computer software that can interact with the car, you need to a special cable to use it but is pretty useful if you know somebody with it
