Ed, thank you awesom gti is where i found many RR graphs for my learning for stock and mapped tdi/1.8T engines (yes i have the latter in my passat).

I always thought a dyno was a dyno.....ie the car is strapped down to the rollers and off they go and do their thing. Correction factor, erm what might this be exactly can someone explain what this can be n how it can affect the graph?

We all have seen vids of the lads on the RR with a big fan running A/C in front of the car for the intercooler (to offset heatsoak) is this the same thing?

I would have thought the torque to be a tad higher?

My Custom Code map on my Ibiza was 300 lb/ft of torque and 161 bhp wheel horse power just for comparison

Thats just the peak torque figure - Theres no point in having a massive torque surge that burns the wheels and clutch and eventiually naffs the turbo - its more important to bring it in controlled and maintain it a much and as long as possible throughout the rev range (Basically you need to take the integral of your torque for you mathematicians ). It makes it more drivable and within the turbos manufactured spec.

EDIT: EG Yours is running a good 250lbs of torque from 2500 to 3900 rpm... The other mapped cars (true with a slightly smaller turbo) are holding nowhere near that - around 50lbs less than you, which is about the amount as an extra 1litre engine

As with the correction factor, im pretty sure the guy at Awesome said they use them to make all cars comparitive with regards to ambient air density (and maybe some humidity too). Denser air obviously has more oxygen atoms which means more power. I think the 'standard' pressure its 990-1000MBar, so if the air pressure is below that, they factor in a power increase, and vice versa is the air pressure is higher.

Therefore at 1019MBar Barometric Pressure, your figures were made to be only 97.7% of what it actually produced. So you were robbed about 2.3%

But I think your argument is still correct. I guess they estimate that the extra 6 millibars of pressure gives about 2.3% more power, so they knock that off the figures to compensate.

Doh! Being a pilot i should have guessed that, i dunno why i estimated 990-1000, just mixed my sums up trying to estimate it the wrong way!

I thought direct link 1:1 for 6sp boxed cars was 5th gear? (4th gear on 5sp boxed cars)

Meaning RR runs should be done in 5th gear, not 4th if you have a 6sp box.

If it's the same car with different gearboxes then it's the same final drive

I have no idea on what your statement means

Some rolling roads run 6sp boxed cars in 4th gear as to minimise heat soak but its not a 1:1 direct linkage as 5th gear is. I notice JKM run LCR's in 4th.

This can obviously have an effect on readings as bhp is a measurement of torque Thought you would have known that snoopie Got a bit of learning to do

Just to compare against mine...

Mine was ran in 4th gear aswell, reached 117mph too....

EDIT: those are the wheel horse power figures.
