i dont think timing is the issue, its just holding me back a little i reckon, just a sub issue really. i need to stop this high pitched noise when i go agove 10 psi. if its a new turbo at least i can start saving for a gt2x and drive below 10 psi for a while! :D

lol.

Well my plan is tomorrow to first check over DV and all hoses.
Then, if all looks ok, bypass n249 and take for a test-drive.
If all ok - excellent, if not, then back to std using n249.
Then bash head against wall, and add this as ammo to the "i want to change car" campaign that i have going :(

oh another thing, which lambda is ignored by stage 2, is it the one nearer the engine or the mid cat one? im disconnecting the ignored one tomorrow to see if this long running lambda short error goes away.

i THOUGHT it was the mid-cat probe, but tbh mate i'm not the best person to ask. I thought that i read it was the 2nd probe, so the one further away from the engine.
I'd check first tho!

i belive its the second sensor, the one after the cat that is removed by stage two

good stuff i think ill pull the plug on it tomorrow, it got wet ages ago and dealers said they replaced the sensors, a week or two ago i was under the car and all they had done was tape up the connectors in the little black box which basically held the moisture in.

will it not throw up a fault though saying open circuit or something

already does mate! the connectors for the two sensors have different connectors so i dunno how they have screwed it up. stage 2 is supposed to disable this sensor anyway.

ah right but it wont get sorted if you permanantly take it out will it?

ah right so its saying lose connection or something then you want it to say faulty o2 sensor or something along them lines!

i dunno if its just me but your 2nd vid seems to pause at -10vac slightly as well? After you hit max boost...?

Steve, if it had done this all the time then maybe. But for it to start doing it now I can't see it being my CAI.

Anyway, bypass completed. :)
Mixed results though.

1) Normal Driving is fine - the vac drops STRAIGHT to -20, with no messing.
2) Spirited Driving - BAAAADDDD. :(

Basically, the DV doesnt sound as strong as before, and it is on the verge of the "chatter" that I've been getting on every gear change. Any low rpm/high gear moves and sometimes i can't even hear the DV dump.

So, I'm back off outside not to revert it back to the way it was.

By the way, my DV is fine (i checked) and I'm running the green (weakest) sping. Seals and holds fine.

All hoses look fine too. From reading and checking, they drop to a metal pipe anyway, so unlikely to be a hole in one of those!

Lets hope my problem disappears when i put it all back together eh? :)

right - well converting back to std was a 5min job :)

Anyway, car is back to its "normal" self again. The vac still pauses at approx -10 before dropping to -20.

Now, logically, it seems my car NEEDS the n249. I don't get this problem when its bypassed (but i get different problems) so I can only assume my n249 is faulty???

I'm gonna try and upload my vid of the gauge....
