New car - Auto Glym life time shine - Would you have it if it was free?i

Gents,

I'm new to forum and I'm enjoying reading old stuff. Have decided to try stage 1 remap soon but would appreciate some advice please.

Ordered new Cupra on 1st August in Luna Grey with Black wheels. Car was due 6 Oct but got a call less than two weeks before to say the factory has decided to stop Cupra in this colour which SEAT UK did not know. Was not impressed but went for Black Magic in the end with stock wheels and was offered the Auto Glym package free.

Hope to keep car looking good with decent wax, question is would you have Auto glym treatment or not?

Got call yesterday to say car delievry slipped again to last week of October!!

Having a Black Magic Mk1 Cupra I'd say mine's still really shiney after a wash (130,000 miles 2004) but anything to help it stay looking clean is a must.

No, genital warts are free too. I would steer clear and look at some basic detailing posts which show some good basic protection for a very good price. You also get the satisfaction of a job well done

I would ask for a free set of black wheels instead

If you're going to leave your car in the garage all week then get it out on a Sunday just to look at it, use a detailer, if you're gonna drive it then take the Autoglym.
Detailing just makes you all the more angry when the car looks dirty as you know how much it cost to get it looking mint, also it doesn't protect the seats from that drip of Mcdonalds coffee, it doesn't offer protection against bird lime and it doesn't get you that "just polished" look after a quick wash which Autoglym does, also Autoglym has a lifetime guarantee.
By the way, a Black Cupra will be worth more money than the Luna Grey would when you come to sell it.

They probably do more damage applying it to be honest.

Autoglym generally make good products so as a product I am sure it works well. Might be better doing it yourself or getting a detailer to paint correct and seal the finish.

Whats involved in the Auto Glym package ?

I'd be wary of having a dealer apply the products but thats my personal opinion. My current car is 3 years old and has never been cleaned by anyone other than me. If i dont get time to do it every weekend then it waits until i do.

I'd be seriously tempted with having them offer some other options FOC.

Personally I don't have the dealer touch the car as the valeting company they use are shocking. I think the lifeshine needs "topping up" every 6 months anyway. So may as well buy a decent polish and wax and keep on top of it every month or so.

Have decided not to take free autoglym based on comments. Getting free service instead.
