New car being built this week!!!

I know its pathetic, but I am sooo excited that my new car is being built this week, week 26. I am just hoping they can deliver it to me soon.

its a 1.6 SC DSG in Black magic
17" alloys
ESP
Ipod/Bluetooth
Folding Mirrors
Auto Mirror/Wipers/Reversing sensors

Ordered it in the first week of May, my dealer says the build week is week 26.

Mine's build week 27, ordered it on 30/03/09, and told to expect delivery 27/07/2009, a damn long wait!

That is a long wait. So yours is being built next week (week 27). Its odd my dealer saying my car is very unlikely to be here bofore September, yet your dealer has a date of the end of July for your car being manufactured a week after mine? It gives me hope of seeing my car soon tho. Can you keep me posted with what your dealer says re. delivery.

Yeah no probs - my orginal date was 30/06/09, put back a month for some reason. Got confirmation today of bulid week & expected delivery. It's a company car, but don't think that makes any difference as they still use a dealership as normal.

Hi,

Well I called my dealer today and explained the car being built in week 27 has a delivery date of the end of July. he said he could not believe it and said he cant see any way that my car being built this week will get here before the August factory shutdown, delaying it until September.

Hmmm I really hope its my dealer telling me the worst case scenario.

Well not sure who to beleive - my company deals with another company for our company cars - who in turn deal directly with the dealers. They've been told that the delivery is estimated to be 27/07/09 - if it was going to be delayed till September I think they'd have to let me know as I'd probably end up ordering another car!!

I know what you mean. It's a shame when you are spending good money that the delivery date is so up in the air. They must know when the next ship departs after your cars build. There was me thinking the procurement process was up to date lol. Keep me updated if you hear anything. Cheers. Ian

We were told today at Listers in Coventry that Seat are halting engine production of the 1.6Tdi for reasons unknown.

We fancied ordering one but they dealer couldn't guarantee a delivery within 16 weeks (scrappage cut off period).

So pee'd off. They're advertising a car you cant buy almost!!!!

my dealer emailed me today with the vot order it says should be here 22 July 09.

As promised a screen shot of VOT. As soon as it is built I will call you and keep you up to date. It only takes a day to build the car its the rest of the process that takes forever.
