parked up and sat there for a min or so, and teh car started to sound very deiesely and started to vibrate side to side then rev on its own to 1.5k and back down again, done it a few times....

any ideas?

i did just drive 10 miles in the rain and it was pissin down at the time when i was parked up. Could that have caused it? the car felt very lumpy and was rocking me side to side like i was in a monster truck.

I had a clio DCI that did the same thing every now and again, it seemed to rev by its self for 10 to 15 seconds and the throttle would not work ether, after that it was fine, I was told it was the ECU re adjusting to all the sensor data from the engine, it would loose this info now and again and need to re calibrate.

just been out to the car in the car park, and its still doing it.... strange !

irfan, maybe the TPS got knocked or something whilst changing those gear linkages?

it hasn't happened since i got it back mind you... only this morning which is weird.

the only difference is this wild rain.

See what happeneds tonight Wayne and we can go from there

happened all night on the drive home, at which point it was still pissing it down...

then the problem seemed to die down after an hour and a half sitting in traffic of the revs bouncing around all over the place...

i think it could of been some dodgy petrol?? or something to do with the heavy rain?

who knows. it seems to be fine now touch wood..

irfan, i still need to pop in sometime so you can check out that engine cover etc. cheers mate

TFSI misfire

Hi Mate,
This is the same problem I am suffering from at present and is currently with my local dealer for visit no 14 !

I have had fuel pump, high pressure (injector rail) pump, cam sensor, crank sensor, pressure reg valve and ECU all replaced and still have the issue ! (All done under warranty, thankfully).

I too seem to get the problem when it rains or the weather is damp.

My dealer is going to replace the throttle body tomorrow, and see if this fixes the problem.

I will keep you posted

Best regards

JM

I think that this might be a problem with the PCV recirculation valve ...:( A common issue in TFSI engines ...:shrug:
