lol its not a problem i should really read it though make sure its readable but never give it enough time lol

anywya back on topic :)

wonder what sort of diferance there is between these ko3s hybrids and my am04 as its the old school hybrid really aint it lol

I would probably not say a great deal mate

I know the AM04's put out around 270-280, possibly a little more, and I doubt there has been that much of a change in technology or the way a turbo is turned into a hybrid over the past few years to make a hybrid K03s superior over the slightly older design of the AM04

essentially they are both the same thing. On the road difference I think would be nothing at all, and if there was a difference of 5bhp.....then the dyno lottery certianly plays a part here:)

mat - yeah 2moro :D be there around half 8 ish to let it cool down so they can get straight on it

Big problem!!!!!!! turbo is leakining oil from a seam... got this pic below to show where i mean it is coming from...

Help!

Think i may have to ring CR tTurbos tommorrow..

oh dear! Ian, will probably pop down for a bit then! Think our lass is up early for work anyway, so I'll tell her to drag me out of bed at the same time :D

that doesn't look good. You sure you tightened the bolts (4 i think) enough there? because that is a proper moveable part on the turbo. I had to losen my bolts when I bought mine to move the neck in a position to fit on the charge pipe.

But if they are tight I'd say ring the people that supplied you the turbo

the 4 bolts that sit arount the housing? i didnt touch them so thought they should off been tight already...

i aint having much luck with this now :(

but you aren't sure that they are tight? I would start there as its a relatively easy check if you can get an allen key in tehre. If they are tight call the place you bought it.

personally if they are loose, I would send off the turbo to get everything checked i.e. CR Turbo's, just to get it checked over - if anything mate, it's peace of mind :)

that looks like the bolts which hold the comp housing to the chra.. no oil should be in the comp housing anyway let alone leak.. the seals are behind this.

this is something which I was thinking about as well. Thought there would be some good sealing between the 2 bits which should make leaking impossible.

If you paid big bucks for this then it should have been good from the start, so best bet is send it back and have them fix the problem for you.

Hi Matner, very interesting thread this I have been watching it from the start, sorry to see the turbo is leaking oil you were so close to getting it all sorted too! But hey at least you have noticed the problem with the turbo sooner rather than later, all the best with the rest of the build, it will be very interesting to finally see what power you get out of it:)

Well as seen as i finished work early thought id make have a look one more time... does leak quite a bit and black smoke pours out the exhaust so rang CR Turbos explained to them the problem and they were happy to have it back-they mentioned when i take the turbo off and give them a bell if its before 12 o clock they will pick it up same day, i got home just before 11 today and made a start... half past 12 the turbo was out so quickly phoned CR again and mentioned i phoned earlier and they are on there way up to pick it up today...! :) things are picking up for me now... lol

nice one mate, mines in with jbs now, just gotta wait til tomorrow to pick it up :D

nice mate that they agreed picking it up. You did that pretty quick as well in an hour and a half.
