Jamie, why do you keep reposting post #143?

Everyone has seen your question.

I dont, my laptop at work is knackered and keeps timing out, refreshing and posting the same stuff, apologies, it's not my fault:(

:D

one other thing that i carnt get my head around with emtying the tip, intercooler ect.... if its coolant why it isnt bright pink....? its clear and stinks of petrol...? why petrol?

I'd assume coolant has been collecting in your intercooler. I'd attribute the petrol smell to bypass gasses from the breather system. (I've just emptied my catch tank - mainly water - and it and it absolutely reeks - with a petrol-like smell.

Also everytime I post in this thread I get this- 'Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /var/www/web1/web/forums/includes/functions_autotagger.php on line 272' which might explain Jamies repeat posts.

Yes I was getting that this on my work computer this afternoon, now I'm getting it at home.

Forgiven. :D

where do you stand in regards to CR Turbo's if it is the turbo?

do they pay to repair just the turbo and any parts it has effected around it i.e. leakages etc....or just the turbo?

Dont know yet, going ring them monday say whats happened and for them to look at the turbo, and say what this might have done to my engine, see what they say from there

just pulled this from the CR site mate....looks like they will of course only pay for the costs of the repair to the turbo and thats it, regardless if it has damaged surrounding parts, which I guess is the standard warranty for any parts:

C R Turbo Engineering offers a warranty, to the original purchaser, for the repair or replacement of their turbocharger for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Proof and date of the original purchase will be required before any warranty can be contemplated. Units for which a claim is being made must be returned to C R Turbo Engineering complete, any attempt to dismantle or repair the unit will invalidate the conditions of the warranty. The warranty does not cover the cost of any labour or materials required to remove or re-install the turbocharger, or any other ancillary costs other than those directly attributable to the repair or replacement of the turbocharger itself.

All other liabilities such as indirect or consequential loss(including loss of profit) are expressly excluded.

No warranty is offered for any C R Turbo Engineering turbocharger used for competition purpose, or in any case where manufactures standard boost pressures of fuel setting have been changed or any device is used to modify them.

That last sentance of their warranty just about voids the waranty for all hybrid applications then. i mean how many people would install a hybrid on the standard map.
When they modify a turbo they should state the maximum working pressure they will guarantee it to, so you could then remap to that pressure and keep your waranty.

I know whats the point in uprating the turbo if you can only run standard boost..joke warranty really.

perhaps taken with a pinch of salt

they deal with a lot of BIG turbo's and special builds, so I can't imagine they would refuse it as then this would mean they offer no warranty what so ever to any of their work, as all customers who come to them for hybrid treatment will of course be running high amounts of boost......

tis an odd statement for a company who produce turbos running high power though...

best of luck mate

no one warrants motorsport use tho.
and given the abuse things take on track use, you can see why.

stuff breaks, its just does.

well phoned CR today and just one hour later they were here to collect my turbo-told them whats happened and they going to ring me tomorrow to tell me if/what has happened..

cars still going in either tomorrow or wednesday so hopefully by end of the week will know the outcome...

Well, ive had the phone call from CR Turbos just and......nothing is wrong with the turbo...

told them the symptoms of what happened with my car ect... he said its very rare that that they see these turbo's fail.

Any one got any ideas what it might be then?

Is there any breather pipes that may be causing this ?

Im stuck now, hope its going in the garage tomorrow..

not got a clue mate, thats weird. cant understand how you got all the liquid in those areas?

Yes I did read exactly what you said and it comes across as saying that from the symptoms its mechanical and the turbo could not be to blame (unless otherwise proven). Thats pretty bias one way if you ask me when everything in the thread points to the turbo more than likely being at fault for the coolant getting into the tip and intercooler.

well i never.....;)
