Got a 2019 Leon Cupra Lux DSG on 4 yr lease. 11mths in and still no decent exhaust noise and never any of DSG sounds I see others talk of. Considering options I see a Res Delete is popular. What have others done who have the same car as me ? Did you order a part then get a local garage to sort or get a garage to order and change over ? How much did it cost in total ?
Thanks

Where are you based?

I picked up a ZAUSTWORKX res delete (they sell on FB marketplace) for around £70, and a friendly garage have said they will fit it for £60 for me.

Am yet to take it there as COVID hit the week it arrived!

Progressive Parts the site sponsor sells the most popular res delete by VAG Sport. Some say it’s just a piece of pipe, but they’ve developed theirs in theory to produce a better sound and not be restrictive on the bends.

They also normally arrange fitting through their workshop if you’re near Manchester.

Yeah so its your call. The PP one is double the price of the ZAUSTWORX one, but some woulds argue its worth it. The main part is finding a garage who knows VAG performance cars and knows how straightforward the res swap is. Id be looking for a local tuner/mapper who specialises in VAG just like Progressive Parts, only in your area.

rang a couple of places advertising VAG speciality near me one quoted £90 incl vat to do it and when I said that sounded like a lot as the pipe is advertised as if it’s an easy job they said there was still a cut to do on the exhaust. Is that true ? Does the existing Section of pipe with the resonator need cut out ?

Yep they are right the resonator needs cutting out at one end, the other end uses a clamp, the res delete kit comes ith one additional clamp so putting the new pipe in uses the old clamp on one and and then the new clamp on the piece of cut pipe (I believe!)

Still £90 is their price I wouldn't say it sounds outrageous, I just know I have been quoted £60 for the same job. That being said, they havent actually done it yet.
