No ABS light

Hi, When i turn on the ignition in my 52plate Ibiza S i get no ABS light, the handbook states it should light then turn off.

i dont seem to feel it either under heavy braking, it just skids.

Does this car even have ABS ? or is it not working?

iirc 1.2 do not have ABS.

i think you might be right, seems weird not to have it though. im sure i read somewhere all ibizas have it standard. and there is an abs light on the dash, guessing they all have the same dash?

My 53 plate 1.2 has ABS..

look under the bonnet to check for sure

don't forget spec's can change at short notice with model's differing quite substantially throught a run of a marque etc, not forgetting different spec's for imports etc on top

if it has got abs you'll see this under the bonnet, usually above the gear box with a shed load of brake pipes coming out of it

not disimilar to this example

my mk3 1.4 didn't have ABS so wouldn't think SEAT would bother sticking it in the mk4 1.2s

couldn't tell you looking from the parts as they are listed with reference to codes which means what was factory added on the production line

although i will say there is a hell of a lot of little bits in the manual that most models will find irrelevant

i might have found the answer as it appears it was indeed a £300 optional extra at least on a 1.2s
