Hey peeps

Quick question for those parrot CK3100 handsfree owners here...

I've just purchased (2nd hand) a CK3100, and am a bit confused as to the mute facility.

The wiring itself looks dead simple - 2 harnesses - 1 for the power and 1 for the speakers. Sorted.

However, on one loom there is a long yellow cable with a male connector on the end. On the other loom there are 3 mute cables.

From the manual, I deduce that to get the stereo to mute I need to connect the mute lead from the headunit to one of the 3 mute plugs on the loom.

But what the hell is the yellow cable for? The manual is confusing me as it says its the mute cable as well.

Anyone got any help for me?
Cheers

Recently installed one myself, great piece of kit!

Take a look at this link:

http://www.icecavern.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112&hl=aura

You need to connect mute 2 to the yellow mute cable, it then displays "phone" on radio display when a call is in progress. I;m assuming you have the std aura radio.

Pin 1 on the seat connector does the speed related volume thing, pin 2 is phone mute and pin 3 is obd diagnostics?!!

Hope this helps, if you need any more help with it drop me a pm.

ok now to make myself look stoopid :S

I have a pioneer 6700MP headunit - this has a yellow cable coming from it called audio mute.

I'm assuming this yellow cable needs to be connected to the yellow cable (male bullet connection) in order to work, as the other three "mute in" connections probably don't connect to anything on the ISO connector....

If the yellow one into the radio says mute then connect it to the mute wire from the parrot. The Parrots blue box thing takes care of muting the radio's signal to the speakers but the yellow cable just tells the radio its been muted for it to change the display etc.

ahhhhhhh, ok i think i understand now.

Been reading on some mobile forums that the mute works without actually being connected - it doesnt mute it in this instance it just switches the audio over to the phone and back when finished.

But I'd like the mute connected as well. Especially if it shows it on the screen.

So I'll connect the long yellow cable from the mute box loom thingy to the yellow cable on my stereo. My stereo mute doesnt have a connector on, just a bare wire, but I'll add a connector on to it :)

Cheers buddy!

no worries mate, hope it works well.

Out of interest were did you mount the blue box and where have you put the display?

I attached the blue box to a steel bar under the dash near the steering column and put the display near to the drivers side airvent on the dash. I found the sticky pads to be crap so I attached the microphone using a part of a number plate pad to the roof lining and the display was mounted with the velcro pad thing in the box.

I havent installed it yet :( But it will be going into the car on the weekend.

the person i purchased it off (Hitcher on here) very kindly supplied a clip he used for his screen - it clips it to the vents very neatly.

I'm gonna have a play, check firmware versions and stuff and then finalise the install hopefully saturday :)

If this is any use to you, I decided to mount my screen here, out of sight.
