is the green cotton filter any better than pipercross foam or KN filters? looking at getting a new filter for my fr tdi but would like some feedback,
cheers

hmmmm loads threads on this topic....green cotton filter is considered better i think as it less oiled....look on the green's website...get the filter for the skoda fabia vrs...same part numberas the fr 1.9 tdi but a fiver cheaper...good times!

someone on ebay is selling the ibiza cupra tdi intake, both parts (adaptor and hose) for £50 inc postage,

however they had it on their polo tdi 9N? i have the pd130 but am looking to get the pd160 intake, was hoping to check that this is the same part...

he says it is genuine stealers part so can only assume it has to be the pd160 intake...want to double check before i commit to paying....

i think new they are about 75 quid, so could save myself a little bit

I'm pretty certain it was only £30-40 from a dealer for both parts when I got it for my FR a few years ago.

Ofcourse like an idiot I took out the k&n filter but didn't swap the intake back to the pd130 one before I traded it in for my cupra.

These oiled filter can really mess up the Air Flow Meter especially if the element it bolted direct to the meter.

the guy will only take 50, think the auction will sell it for more, so gonna take the hit!

have heard good things about the intake especially combined with the green cotton filter

This intake pipe went for£48.00 plus £7.00 P&P this morning. Too much if you ask me!

it is really, espicially when you consider its from a 'write off' i trust its not a front end smash tho.
has any tried importing one from an EU dealer?

nice little test, certainly proves the point, shame its not an independant test which allways make me suspicious. Surprising how poor the K&N filter is,

AMD technic use dry pipercross filters according to the forums, i cant find these on their site does any1 now the part nos?

the wife clipped a hedge/gutter yesterday must of hit a piece or rock or something, took a chunk out the alloy and punctured the brand new tyre (1 day old) car looks like its been through a rally ;(

I got the pd160 and k&n on my fr but didn't really notice a difference. Maybe a little bit more turbo sucking noise. Wasn't really worth the money in my opinion.

well im planning for a p-torque remap soon, so im hoping the pd160 intake with either a pipercross or green filter will help.
then an audi tt brake upgrade& possibly some ARB in the future

Hi recently fit the pd160 and a green filter, drives much better. If you want the noise take off the intake trumpet next to trhe maf. Did that on mine, shortened the trumpet, good noise with it off. Medium noise with shortened trumpet. By the way mine was abouit £60 from the dealer.

yea part went for 53 in the end...no way im paying that

can get it brand new for just under 70, still too much in my opinion!
getting remap soon so want it for then.....may have to accept the high price

yeah its too much for 2nd hand, 2 much for new come too that.

i emailed pipercross about their filters and the model for pd engine is dry - doesnt require oiling, or servicing as regularly as the green cotton filter so ill be purchasing one of these. ive also emailed some french seat delaers for a price on the pd160 intake, probably wont get a reply tho. maybe try some spanish dealers too, come on google translate!

whos doing your remap knight ?

well....bought a 2nd hand one today as well as a green filter got it cheap so glad i dint buy that one from fleabay

getting it done by p-torque i reckon but thats not till next month

yeah put it on last night...took 2 minutes...very easy change over, will put pics up tonight on my readers ride thread

also put on strut brace, that was easy too just have to moce the water bottle and a black sensor to get to the bolts underneath...
