Any more LC owners want to give their fuel details?

And please can we keep chat away from this thread ;)

First tank in my '02 Standard LC

Sainsbury's 97
Car: Standard Leon Cupra (180)
MPG: 28.4 MPG
Range: 300 miles

About 150 miles 'testing' the car out.

I normally drive about 130 miles per day so we'll see whether this is better in another 2 days time.

Having been quite an anorak over the last 2 and a half years (and been ribbed at work), I have been logging my fuel use. So for a standard LC 150TDI:
Based on 59 fuel refills and using the odometer and measurement from the pump, not the trip computer:
average range is 451 miles best 486 worst 398
average fill up 48.1 litres max 51 least 42.4
average mpg 42.6 best 45.0 worst 39.6

Second tank in my '02 Standard LC :D

Morrisons bog standard
Car: Standard Leon Cupra (180)
MPG: 32.03 MPG
Range: 276.5 miles (39.24 Litres)

No miles 'testing' this time, just normal motorway type driving at around *cough* and usual booting when a beamer comes up behind, or this time when a merc 4x4 pushed pashed at a traffic light!

LC fuel figures

Standard LC (Fabia Wiper adds 50BHp, right?)
Tesco 99
38MPG (When driving between 60-70mph)
340 miles

I did a Clacton, Essex to Totnes, Devon journy three weeks ago and peaked at 38.5MPG over a 600 mile round trip.

Suits me fine. That was a tank and a half of fuel.

Reading this thread i think some peoples trip computer must up the chute. I work mine out the old fashioned way. Fill up drive fill up again and work it out from there. To achieve 38MPG from 340miles you are only using 40 litres of fuel so that means there are 15 litres left in the tank! THat would give you a tank range of 468! Are you sure your car is not a TDI????????

Doing the maths: Leon has 55l tank. Reserve light comes on with 5l left so assuming you run to the reserve light and have used a full 50 litres of fuel then the following mileages would give the coresponding MPG

Miles Litres Gallons MPG
370 50 11 33.63636364
360 50 11 32.72727273

2002 LC with Performance Torque Re-map

Tesco 99 Ron Super unleaded
MPG 26-27 Currently
Tank to reserve light 290-300
Mostly town driving

MPG has been as high as 30 during the summer. Average MPG over the life of the car is currently 28.4.

The thing which kills the MPG on the standard LC is that the turbo cuts in so low, 1600rpm, making it difficult to drive without boosting.
