Polo Rear Aero Wiper

Arrived this morning and had a go fitting it. 2 problems, firstly the cap that goes over the spray jet doesn't fit over, so believe I have to cut some off...what do I cut? And the other problem is the plastic arm seems to hit the glass, so is a washer required to space it away a bit more? It hits near the centre of the window.

i think he means cut abit off the bottom of the cap where it touches the window mate

yeh just rub the bottom of the plastic cap on to some sandpaper to remove a couple of mm

u will be pleased to know i have the same issue.....after struggling to get the old wiper arm off...and cracking my self over the head with it by accident. My cars always wound me.

Out comes the sand paper then. Mine wipes/fits ok tho...jus the cap pops off when the wiper is switched on

My problem was that the arm seemed to be touching the glass, hence why I thought a spacer may be required.

Managed to get the arm on with a lot of filing down. For the cap that goes over the nut, which bit needs demolishing?

im gonna wait for the facelift ones, and give my dad the rear wiper ive bought (for his polo)

plus its soooo cold to be messing around with the car @ the mo!!

there are a few mods on the cap b4 it will work properly.

once done the new wiper is a godsend

Many thanks for the guide, was very useful. But can I add that my whole wiper must have been sitting closer to the glass than most as I had to sand down alot on the arm and on the cap for it to not touch. Seemed to scratch most at the vertical position, so a tip maybe is to temporarily put on the wiper so it is vertical and see if it is close to the glass.
