Power Steering.

There's been a few questions on this before. I've done a search and can't find a specific answer to my question.

I have a '97 GTi 8v and my power steering is goosed. I'm not entirely sure if it's the pump or belt. It squeals when I turn and it's starting to get really stiff even when driving normally. Taking tight turns is when it's especially bad.

Anyway, does it sound like a new pump? If so, will the pump from any Ibiza fit or will I need to find an AGG engine?

whilst changing the pump it would be rude/unwise not to do the belts as well..

not a majorly expensive /difficult job

It definetely sounds like the pump mate. Mine was squealing rather bad (along with the alternator) and one morning I came out to find a puddle of power-steering fluid under the car.

Can you use any pump from any Beezer?
