no Bill, I was merely going on what I have read across a lot of other forums with single pass providing less of a pressure drop, silly me, should not believe everything I read eh.......

I did'nt think so, and I am not trying to be an arse about it either, but when it gets quoted as if its fact when there is no actual data for either, let alone compare, you can see where I'm coming from.

A thinner single pass core vs a thicker twin pass core... who knows the comparison without testing it on the same car/same conditions.

What might be fine for k0x turbos' might not be fine for bigger flowing units

I have run several iterations of intercoolign on my own as its spec raised... and I can confirm from experience that they're not all created equal.

Hilarious yet pointless comment - nice one!!! :bleh:

The point is , the Tesco value ones come with more juice than the Heinze ones
Just because 1 company can do it cheapler , does not mean all can
THAT was the point
You pays your money you takes your choice

Are you currently running a Forge item Bill

(......not that everyone on the forums is running 600bhp Ibiza's ;) )

no not running forge one at this time.
Its similar sized to their RS500 core however and has been measured up by Forge for those wanting similar setup......... as its well proven.

from how it reads it seems that some people think that PA is a value intercooler compared to the Forge... i dont think this is true, i think they are equally good unit for different uses. under 300bhp i would go Forge and above PA or another company... i think it is resonable to assume that a companyt can make them cheaper... there cant be that much difference in making the intercooler and both must be similar quality material etc etc...

I do understand that companies need to claw back development costs

Your theory holds some water, so long as we are comparing apples with apples.....

Currently we may not have enough information to determine that, or which is the 'better' solution

I wouldn't class the PA as a 'value' intercooler, roughly the same price as the Forge and the build quality is very high, I've seen it first-hand and it is impressive.

I dont think anyone was saying it was a "value" one
But more of a tongue in cheek statement about your statement
How can anyone say that because PA makes a FMIC for a set amount that everyone must reduce their price
Especially as there are others out there that have been ging for many many years and are prooven and developed and have a manufacting name of quality

It may be an impressive piece of kit , hey I like the value beans just as much as Heinz does not mean that Heinz HAVE to reduce the price of their beans though ;)

Thats wrong....

Beanz meanz Heinz! :p

Companies do need to take into account market forces though. Simple economics.

Force and PA FMICs are more in the same league than Heinz and Tesco value beans.
