It's been a long time coming.... I’ve been thinking of posting something in here for a while.

I bought this (my first SEAT) back in 2004 with less than 8000 miles on it. It was totally standard and looked something like this

It wasn’t until joining SCN early last year that I (like many others :)) started to modify it…. Most of the mods are just your average run of the mill mods but working for an engineering company has had it benefits making a few others.

I could chat and bore you all for ages but it’s probably best that I write a list post a few pics then bugger orf to bed 

Ok…as it stands today

i suppose its not much of a build thread but there is more to come... im making a water injection tank at the minute, which will replace my battery (which will be in the boot).

i have also been looking at a stage 3 conversion..... but hasn't everyone :)

I've chased him and Nick ( Skorchio) around MK a number of times now and as far as i can tell with coilovers they don't appear to need an ARB kit. Both cars look well planted and seem to handle just right. So much so that i'm considering coilovers on mine.

Found the coilovers had a lot of benefits including some that people don't normally think of like reducing nose dive under braking which gives real confidence and the car put it's power down bettter.

Had both (Bilstein Coilovers and Neuspeed ARB's) on my old LCR and found the ARB's made the world of difference but my car wasn't quite as low as Probees. As far as handling I loved the ability to have the back end step out just a little, corrected with a lift of power and worst case a dab of opposite.......all very predicatble.....lots of fun.

However you're absolutely correct in what you say about the back end after fitting ARB - before they were fitted, terminal understeer was all you got at the limit after which point it would try and swap ends on you.

It's still a bit snappy if you do something foolish and provoke it but it's recoverable which it definitely wasn't before.

The only thing that puts me off further modifying is the cost of tyres, a nose heavy FWD car which can be thrown around like a gokart is never going to be great on tyres, before the modifications I'd reckon on about 10k per set - now ( admittedly with sticky asymmetrics) it's <3k on a front set! People never believe me when I say every day is like a Track day.

Hehe.. thanks for the comments.

i thought someone might bring up the ARB subject. it was in the master plan of a weekend show/track car but after fitting the KW's i really dont see any need to rush out and buy some..... but i just might hehe. my Leon is low and where i live it does give me trouble but i love it like that, although my undertray doesnt :)

Pat have you seen the new Falken asymmetrics??? i have some on mine at the minute... they are very grippy and apparently not as soft as 452's
