My LCR used do that, it had a faulty engine temp sensor, could probably be few things to be honest, worth getting it vag-com'd. As said before revving to 2k on start up isn't normal.

Yeah, mine runs better at idle since I renewed the temp sender

Hi there guys .. right first of al my idle is a little rough at the moment ,, ive always thought it was normal but when you start up your leon does it rev a little higher for a bit before going back to idle ? .. when its cold it sort of revs to about 2k and sits there.. or just under then drops back to just under 1k ? normal ?.. a

Also the idle seems a bit lumpy now..sits just under 1k but bumps about a bit and vibrates the car.. is this the symptoms of a gumd up throttle body ?? the maf was changed recenty also..

also have posted in another thread but the other day i had issues with yet another coil pack.. Changed one and the matching one is on its way out now.. am looking to change them all to beru ones.. but which do i need ?

I had this, and it ended up being a temperature sensor. Had it changed, and it works fine now, not erratic idle.

i will get the temp sensor looked into then.. its not a massive thing it has done it ever since ive had the car.. also what sparkers do people reccomend ? ngk any good or are just the usual bosch jobbys just as good..

also does anyone have a guide to cleaning out the throttle body housing ? might sort that at the weekend

also a guide for temp sensor would be handy.. ive just rung euro car parts they dont seem to have the right code for the engine temp sensor .. anyone know which part i need ?? they have like millions of sensors fans , etc. it is an auq engine

I don't know tbh mate... mine's a TDi so I don't really know much about the petrols or the sparker for them etc...

I have a similar problem that's just starting now?
It's a Leon FR facelift 09 plate petrol. A while back I noticed the hesitation in 2nd & 3rd gears intermittently, then after long journeys high idle approx 1.3k for about 10 mins?(til I turned it off!).

Had a mod carried out by SEAT under warranty in jan.
Then tonite - done maybe 50 miles (shopping with wife ) home n back then 5 min journey - resulted in idle at 1.5k to 0.7k and back with intermittent bursts of what can only be described like stabbing at throttle after turning all power sources of eg radio/lights etc!??? Any ideas! Leon just within warranty.
