quick blue flame exhaust question

hey all, ordered a cat back system at christmas and finally went to get it fitted today only to get a fone call about an hour later saying it couldnt be fitted coz of the difference in bore diameter as the bf system is 2.5 inch
my question is, is there any way it can be fitted without spendin hundreds more on down pipes and decats/ sports cats? or should i get saving?

get a reducer pipe part from 2.25 to 2.5 then i t will fit i have 2.5catback on stock downpipe no problems
