Morning, cold init??

Got in the car this morning and fired the beast up, waited for the cloud to dissapear and tried to stick the aircon on to help the demisting, no dice!!

I pressed the AUTO button, the fan speed increased and MAN dissappeared from the fan side of the display but no snowflake symbol appeared. So, tried selection the snowflake button, the symbol appeared for a split second and then dissapeared, tried again same result.

The outside temp was showing 2.5 with a snowflake (on the dash readout) and I set the interior temp to 28, well, it was cold out there. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, its probably a function of the aircon with it being so cold outside or that you are only allowed one snowflake on display in the car at any given time, some sort of German/Spanish by-law perhaps??

It does describe this in the owner's manual. Perhaps it's worth a read.

Simon.

I did, unfortunately it was after I wrote that lot

The book says:

When the outside temperature is low the fan will not switch itself on until the cooling liquid has reached the right temperature, unless the fan is manually switched on.

Correct, it works just like that. I think the right temperature is about 60 degs as mine didn't show the snowflake symbol until the gauge started to move off its end stop. Thanks for the answers.
