race with bmw m5 (thought they were menna b fast)

had a race off the lights with a bmw m5 last night in my lcr (not the new 500bhp one).
The guy was sat at the lights pressing all his buttons on his computers and gear box to change all his settings with a big grin on his face, he got a better start but after bout 50 yards i just pulled straight past him, he looked so dissapointed id just creamed his 60k car . we ended up at about 140 when the lights infronnt of us turned red ! only just broke in time!

I had my (265bhp ish LCR) get a right royal ass whooooping by an old shape M5......ironically it was on the M5 from a rolling start and he pulled a few car lengths on me......that engine sounded great though (the beemer not the LCR)

I only gave it a go because I had a previous high speed enounter holding on to the 'shirt tails' of an Audi S6 and BMW M5 that were having a play, that time I kinda stayed with them but the roads were busier.

Always difficult to know if he was trying 100% or like when I had my car and it was running fault codes (down on power) would always be the day a Paxo VTR had a go....

You can pick them up for about £13K these days, a hell of a car for your money.

5.0 V8, they have 400bhp.

400bhp! should of beet me then, must b that automatic gear box, i'd imagine there quite heavy too.

Manuals should be good for a 5 second dead 0-60.... automatics maybe a second more tops..... maybe??

How are you certain it was an M5??

The M5 old shape has 400bhp and a 6 speed manual gearbox you can't get an automatic.

It would destroy a LCR

You sure the car you was "racing" wasn't a 540? They have the choice of an automatic box

I disagree that 0-60 is any quicker just due to traction.....or lack of it

Through the gears on a rolling start there isn;tmuch in it between a remapped and std LCR either

Yes a 540sport (auto or manual would of been similar to a LCR.
