radio / air con displays ... can they be tweaked?

one thing that really disappoints me is the displays not lighting up unless lights are on, radio can be near impossible to see when it's dull (black display don't help!!) although it ain't always dull enough to warrant putting lights on.

can this be altered so these displays are lit when ignition is on?

Thats odd, in my Ibiza which is a relic from the past compared to a mk2 Leon, the display is permanently on regardless of the lights being on or not.

The downside is that at night its easy to forget to turn on your lights!

Im sure theres probably a setting in Vagcom you can change.

Hopefully someone will be along to confirm

If its dull enough that you cant see it maybe your lights should be on

mY CUPRA IS THE SAME... REALLY IRRITATING. bUT MY 08 fR IS JUST PERFECT...must be a setting

so any ideas guys? if some of you aren't experiencing this then surely it's a setting? yeah markmeus, in my mk1 leon the controls always seemed to be lit e.g. if you were driving along in daylight you might not be aware, but enter an underpass or something and you could still them. now can't see my radio or air con unless lights are on

Now that winter is upon us, I drive around everywhere with my side-lights on, not just for safety, but also so that the interior is a bit brighter.

I dont use the Radio so couldnt say, but I run my sidelights 24/7 - 365 anyway, so the display is always on.

I use the Philips Blue Vision bulbs these days too, cheap & reliable.
