radio logos update

That's going to be old in anycase. The key is when you see the SE in the descriptor of the file covered in the post here:

Seat / Cupra have done the dirty by not getting Phonostar to support the sub brand. It was in and then got dropped. You can't edit that in, signed files.

There was a time when Seat did the dirty in mib2 navigation by not supporting mapcare although we have workarounds. You get mapcare now on mib3 for free but not updateable radio logos if you don't keep the connect services contract. Even then if Phonostar don't have an up todate database of logos, unlike mib2, you can't import them in any other way. It's all locked down with encryption using SLA signatures. Afraid you have to deal with gaps in the logos. Phonostar is a German Internet radio provider, Vag ride off the back of their databases to provide the radio logo via connect services but not via the logo import since that SE descriptor is currently missing.

Ok but I think that in my case my radio db is older than 1.31.40 because my Leon is 2020 one.

Ok I've re pinned the thread. It's not going anywhere until Phonostar include the Seat / Cupra ID as shown above - you can look in the .mnf files - the manifest file that steers the import - not SE on those lines no import. To save repeated threads I've pinned it back up as a statement as to where we are. If you keep connect services you get updates, if you don't, you can't update the radio logo. The German company that looks after the logos can be problematic with UK stations in any case... we know that, so even with that you my may not get the logos shown. MNF

A cross-check of the mnf file of the firmware with the mnf file of the logo file will tell you whether it will work for the technically minded. Later logo files have the SE in them but you need to examine the two. You can't edit them yourselves. Since I don't have MIB3 pass to those who have, to keep an eye on things. MartiniB is keeping that thread up to date.

Radio Logo update.

MartiniB has posted an update

This time he's posted the part codes by each one in his post 1

eg:

Mib3 (Superb Mk3.FL and similar) Tiguan 3G5 035 820 Q

"FM3-E3-DWBC4-EU-SE-MQB-PC",

"FM3-E3-DWBC4-EU-SK-MQB-PC",

"FM3-E3-DWBC4-EU-VW-MQB-PC",

"FM3-E3-WBC4-RW-SE-MQB-PC",

"FM3-E3-WBC4-RW-SK-MQB-PC",

"FM3-E3-WBC4-RW-VW-MQB-PC",

etc

If you see an SE in the list it means it might work with a Seat / Cupra. I don't have mib3 but if anyone wants to give it a go. Ideally you need to know your infortainment unit, place it on the list and see whether it's marked up as SE.

The red menu in Mib3 tells you what radio database you are on. Connected services if more recent will obviously be better than these if they are more up to date. Suspect radio logos are still like Swiss Cheese for Mib3. Reckon your best bet at the minute if you cherish radio logos is to keep the Connect services contract going and nag Seat / Cupra.

(y)Cunningly you only get Seat / Cupra radio logo updates over connected services. The update files themselves release by Phonostar the people who have the logo contract dont put the Seat / Cupra part code in so it doesn't take. It was once in many generations back. That's the code to check in those files. Till you see it, the USB method won't work. Poor show by Seat / Cupra.

There was the firmware update that gets pushed via WiFi out of connected services contract reported on the board, whether you'd get them that way. If they get pushed that way. One of life's mysteries. Most people probably haven't got their units connected up to hotspots or their home WiFi waiting to get given the call for an update... your unit has to be on that list as @East Yorkshire Retrofits said when it came up. Whether this works for logos pass.

Another one of life's mysteries so it got pushed that way and you got the logo updates. Have you read off the radio logo database release. Picture. Then you'd look for that off line, but before when this came up, that's how we knew the Phonostar files missed off the Seat / Cupra ID but they got them via a dealer firmware update.

I suppose what you hope for is a critical firmware update pushed that has the logos in it you want. :ROFLMAO:

What you dont get out of contract is the map over the air updates. Can do those offline. Traffic reports. Control of your AC remotely etc. Probably a load of other stuff. Firmware and logos (y). But as you say you can't go private. People were putting that about as the fix for the emergency call alarm which took them offline for updates. Made the situation worse.
