RoW Logos / Australia Logos MIB3
@steveyoshi ... wet afternoon and all that basically following VAG bringing out MIB3 and above they locked down unofficial imports into the unit of files. You can't have people hacking them via the port / SD / USB so VAG maintain the import keys. The Phonostar radio logos their partners works since they have the keys for the data to be imported to mib3. Mib2 users in Australia had github projects to supplement the Austalian radio logo database but not with mib3 they don't have the keys. Phonostar only extends to Europe as the VAG contractors for the area.
There are some interesting posts which are said to enable the over the air reception of the logos. Suppose to be turned off in Australia import VAG MIB3 cars.

Trusty DV52 in on there. Now whether all of the icons don't appear in Australia or some pass not living in Australia. Some stations don't transmit the graphics which is where the logo database comes in. Catch 22 if you got some graphics but not the other and VAG stops you from updating the database the car came with. No connect serves in Oz.
So the Briskoda post above not sure whether this is the answer... you'd need OBDeleven or similar

I thought I'd share my experience with an Australian/RoW MIB3/MOI3 unit.
From factory the radio station logos are disabled and I don't believe Australia is included in the database or ever has been.
By default, radio database just displays as blank, but changing function_configuration_radio-Station_Logo_DB_Mode setting in 5F gets the radio database version to display and allows you to apply the update via USB as described in the original post.
This can be done using OBDeleven or similar. You can find more information on this setting in this Ross Tech forum thread.

That's assuming the SFD2 didn't close that down. Probably DV52 needs to be pinned down on that and other Australian folk. They are the experts over there.

Radio stations Logos database updates

5F module MIB3 Add Radio Station Logos / Icons to Presets
When VW moved from MIB2 to MIB3 infotainment systems, they dropped the ability to upload radio station Logos / Icons to assign to station presets. This automatically works for HD radio stations or Sirius/XM, but not for traditional FM stations in Canada. So far, I have not seen anyone find a...
