Ive heard its a common problem! my washer has stopped working. blade is moving and i can hear the motor?? any advise?

I have had the same problem, the pipe comes off the joint. It could be in the boot, and also where it connects to the rear washer. Also in the engine compartment where the pipe can disconnect from the joint.

I noticed this! (just got mine on friday)
I have a puddle on the floor when trying to wash my window lol

Well locate where it is that its leaking.
Mine went several times over winter with the water freezing in the pipes.

If its leaking from the engine bay depending on your engine, mines a 1.9tdi you need to remove your air box and you will see the pipe by the ABS and you juse clip it back together.

If its in the boot there are 5 screws that need removing and the back panel just pulls off and you will see that it has like a circlip through the washer hose. This needs pulling out so you can push it back onto the appropriate location on the motor and the clip pushing back on.

Hope this is some help to you

I have a similar problem (rear wiper works but no washer fluid) and was very quickly able to diagnose the fault as being nothing to do with popped joints - mine leaks from the black cap attached to the wiper motor housing where the pipe fits into. It has two little slots in the cap body (designed to be there) where the washer fluid flows out from. I assume this is new wiper motor job unless its possible to replace internal o-rings - any ideas on how much the motors cost? I guess its probably cheaper just to de-wiper it (i'm 75% of the way there anyway!).

Mine went in the worst cold weather last year and left big puddle under the passenger floor. I wimped out and took mine in, cost £45 :(

take of the boot panel and clip it back on mate it a common fault when i worked in the dealer seat issued special clips we had to put on and tighten to keep the pipe from comin off again!
hope this helps

I had this today, managed to bodge it with some ptfe tape and now it gives a really small drip or so when n use instead of the normal flood saves me the £40 for a secondhand one!

yup ive got the same problem. ve got an 07 fr tdi. i get a little bit of water come through onto the rear screen every now and then? so not sure if the pipes would have dis connected or what really, any ideas at all?

when i took my apart saw that the connecting pipe had rusted through and hence the issue....

Will take it apart I think and locate the problem. Where is best to start, in the boot or below the air box under the bonnet?

well fill your washer bottle, open the boot wide and then use the rear washer and see where the pudle come from. front or back!!!!

common problem i have had this happen three time on my 08 fr fluid coming out under the passenger side, also into the passenger side and into the boot on the driver side at the wheel arch and the dealer has fixed it all three times under warranty. Guess what the other day it happened again soaking the carpet in the boot just aswell its going for its service on thursday. But i was told by the dealer that seat would only ok the warranty work once a year
