yeah im gona check the gasket but wouldn't have thought the gasket would be too bad as its only 2 1/2 years old.
does anyone know where i can get the torque pattern from? other than a haynes manual (which i cant seem to get hold of)

its strange that they dont as its not a million miles form others that they will already have (golf, a3, tt) plus they do them for just about everything else you can possibly think of

Nowhere near, i.e. Norway.
I would assume ELSAWin could tell the correct torque settings.
I've only used it for torque settings on suspension parts for my LC. Haven't looked around for anything else.

My copy of ELSAWin don't work at the moment, I think Pat's (Fester's) does.

removal - Loosen the nuts -arrows- beginning with the outer ones in diagonal sequence, and ending with the inner.
‒ Remove the nuts -arrows-and remove the cylinder head cover.

refitting - First tighten the inner nuts and then the outer nuts of the cylinder head cover, in diagonal sequence to 10 Nm.

i would def. get a new gasket!!!

i refurbed the engine on my old escort and the gasket cost about 12 quid!

assumming the leon has a gasket made of cork theres a good chance you could break it taking the rocker cover off.
