Sat Nav SD Card question

My Seat Leon has a V4 AT sat nav sd card.
I have found a SD card with V9 but it says AS on the card ( 5fo etc to ).
It is new and i am wondering if its ok to buy for my seat leon ?

Nope won't work. Search the forum, tonnes of threads and in short, unless you buy from a dealer, you can't update the map

Not strictly true - I’ve updated my maps on my SD card 4 times since I’ve had my car. Very easy, just make sure you back up your current SD card before doing anything.

The card i am thinking of getting is a genuine seat v9 sd card and plastic wallet.
He says it has never been used, as he bought the wrong sat nav sd card ( his car is a 2016 seat leon ).

It's my understanding that the genuine ones have a code in the case this needs coded to your unit to work.

If paddy has updated his,you may not need to buy a thencsrd at all

Backup your current SD card, Download the files you want, delete all files from your SD card, then copy the new files onto the SD card. There’s a file you copy from your originals SD card backup which allows you to use the new files - once I’m home, I’ll verify the file name for certain. It’s worked every time for me.

Obviously, select the right year of car and the right maps before downloading the files if your SD card is big enough, you could fit both files onto it, but my standard one from Seat when I had my car from new, is only 16gb so both don’t fit.

My system is the 5f0 series.
I have downloaded the maps from that website, it does not work.
Hence tryng to get an official seat sat nav sd card.

Did you back it up before you overwrote your SD card?

Yes.
I copied all the file to my laptop.
Deleted the files on the sd card ( the one from my car ).
Copied the correct 5f0 files i downloaded from the website above.
When i put the sd card into my car and the radio it says not update available or similar message.

It’s the OVERALL.NDS file you need to copy from your original SD card backup to the new set of files.

Ah right.
So what is the file structure i should see on my original sd card ?
When i did the download i did not see the OVERALL.NDS file.

I’m flying back home tonight, so let me get the exact process documented for you with the file names and file locations - hopefully you can get it sorted without putting money into Seats pockets for something that should be free anyway!

Just downloaded the 5f0 update from website above,
It has
MARKETS folder
DBInfo text file
P72_N60S3MIBS2_EU_NT.md5 file.

I put all the above on my genuine seat sd V4 card and the sat nav says no update is available.
I cannot see any OVERALL.NDS on my sd card or in the updated download files.

I think the update you are talking about is for MIB2 sat nav unit.
Mine is a MIB1
