From what i can get to when measuring the overall width of the exhaust manifold on an ahu tdi is roughly 30cm, i thought access was better but it's not so is hard to get a good reading. And the spacing between the closer ports at either end is roughly 6-7cm. It might be worth asking devonutopia if he minds measuring the spacing on this http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=241210 which has the same spacing as the ahu tdi etc.

I've got a REALLY vague recollection that the 20vt fits on the 8v, but (like I say) it's really vague, to the point where I might've dreamt it!

Or is it that the 20vt one fits a 16v, and that's how they turbo them?

I think I would've been better of NOT posting

certainly seen modified inlet's off a 20vt onto a 16v before now but for exhaust looks a bit off at first glance what ya reckon ?

I'd think 20vt and 16v might go together as theyre both cross flow, the 8v isnt and need spacing for inlet+exhaust ports.

They look very similar on the details, Im going to have to keep my eye out for a cheap set up and just go for it. Don't think I have the bottle to strip the daily to test the manifold, vnt turbo on the mk4 so no good anyway.

Cheers for the input so far guys, very helpful :)

Uni is taking over my life, a week off work to do my assignments. Currently reading through the British Standard for earth retaining structures :(

Come on Dolly, my daily puts down 310lbs/ft of torque, get it out! Its all about throttle control...........and spinny spinny spin spin

I have the enjoyable fun of reading about in cylinder pressure testing and analysis using pv diagrams. Then i have to write a literature review on it all. Then actually do it, depending on how long technicians take to machine my stuff :(.

In theory it should fit, if you have a manifold kicking around it wouldn't hurt trying it for size?

I haven't had chance to look into this anymore, just about to tinker with the hack for the first time in about 3 months

Looks like a awsoom project mate, what about going to and enginier and geting a custom mani made up? Surely it's worth trying to get a price? It the opens you up to more turbos to be fitted!
What about a Garret T2 there virtualy indisructable!
Good look
