It seem's like the pump has seized up against it's other mounts your going to have to loosen all of it's mounting bolts.

Thanks for all the advice but I clearly am not cut out for car maintenance. Too pigging stressful.

Or find a big fat bar and try levering the pump down carefully.

Too late now, tried to bash the ps pump while twisting the toothy thing. That whole nut is worn out, damaged now.

Going to have to locate one of them, whatever the hell it's called.

Does anyone know the name of that nut on the right hand side or where I can order it from. It is now mangled and won't do what it was supposed to do.

i have one somewhere if you want it. i tightened my pump back up without the need for those teeth, just my prying the pump the other way then tightening the bolt up.

I dont think mine needs tightening as it's ceased. But I do need to put this damn belt on and can't without the steering pump moving.
