smells of petrol in side of car

hi i have a 1.6 cordoba..
in the last weeks it has only started to happen but inside the car when driving and at a stand still the most you can smell a real strong smell of petrol..
i havent touch the car in anyway for a while now so a bit confused i checked the pipes and not splits or leaks i changed the pollen filter could see any pipes off any advice wud be greatful many thanks

It will either be a cracked breather or a leaking fuek pipe down in the drivers side wing. theres a join in the wing and this is where they leak. Also very hard to see and get too

the carbo filer pipe will probably be leaking, leave the engine running and then smell by the carbon filter on the drivers side wing and there will probablt be a cracked pipe.

I had this problem with 1.6 SXE, fuel efficiency went downhill too. When i had my full service the garage said that the fuel lines where leaking, they replaced them (bumped my service cost up to 300 quid). Problem sorted.
