SOS Error

Car returned. Dealer said there were several recalls requiring software updates. Infotainment layout is somewhat different, but easy enough to navigate. Only minor issues discovered so far are that it needed and OTA update (which I’d have thought the dealer would have done) and I then found that they had the privacy setting at max so I had to change it so that OTA could happen. Also, the climate has reset itself to 22 degrees a couple of times now, which is irritating.

The max privacy setting happened with me also. Couldn't even login as primary user do to that.
Also completed the OTA already.
One thing I notice is that my driving profile always resets. Have to keep selecting ECO or Sport everytime I get in the car. It's annoying.

I found the primary user setting strange. It wouldn’t let me log in using my existing Seat connect account so had to setup another. Now finally sorted, without having to buy a year subscription. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll keep an eye on the drive profile now.

My car went in for the SOS popping thing, they had the car for three days to do the recalls on the software. Now on 1896 which seems to have fixed a few things. I did have to do a factory reset myself because it wouldn’t let me login to my profile. I’ve also noticed there is a OTA available but I’m reluctant to install this as the last one I did seemed to make things worse.

I’ve heard that 1898 is out now. Apparently it will be over the air too.

Has anyone still got the SOS error after the 1896 update and with the Telematic software updated to 0142 as well? Mine still has the issue and SEAT are replacing the wiring to the telematic unit (5 cables to replace) they have previously replaced the driver side speaker and replaced the SOS unit its self! They have also replaced the air bag as well.

Was your car updated from 16** software or 17**

It was 16** it was one of the first batch of vehicles registered before Nov 2020
It does seem the 16** software that’s updated to 1896 that seems to be having more issues.
mine was on 1790 that was updated to 1803 then to 1896 and I’ve just had 142 software on the telematic. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 It’s been ok.
Did they have any issues with updating yours at the dealer?

maybe not related, but mine had been in for a gearbox problem, they fixed that but then found a faulty wiring loom, and i'd been having various errors with SOS messages popping up on the dash...
they didn't give me that much information, but faulty wires could be related to the SOS errors..

mine had only ever had the usual OTA updates, was on 1803 when it went in.

Had mine at the dealer a few weeks ago; only managed to test it last week when I was back in the office - appears to be fixed, no popping or loosing SOS around the M25 now.

Assuming they've updated to the latest software as the screen now shows Clima at the top.

Hopefully it has been fixed this time - 5 wires have been replaced that connect to the telematic unit and the dealership are saying no issues on the dash or in the fault codes so finders crossed this time it might be fixed. I should be able to pick it up today or tomorrow.

Ignore this, the faulty wires reported by the garage were actually snapped by the mechanic when removing the gearbox.

got car back... they still didn't update the software....

SOS error - the dreaded 'Pop-Pop' noise and infotainment malfunction happens regularly - some journeys no radio, no air-con, no sat-nav, blipping at you - drive in the centre of the road, over the speed limit 5mph, all bonkers stuff. Restarts don't clear it, car drives well. Any ideas?

I admire you for your patience. By now I probably would have either:
1/ Taken it back and told the dealership to 'keep' it.
2/ Fixed it with a gallon of unleaded and a box of matches.
Hope you find a more practical solution soon. 🤞

Take it back to the dealer to sort. Should all be warranty work.

Unfortunately in either case due to wait times...getting hold of another (possibly another brand) would be difficult :banghead:

So have car booked in today for the SOS Error/clicking speaker etc. Took in Erwin documentation for Campaign 90T4 and TPI 26004557/5.

Was advised that only one garage in the dealership group could update electric cars (MHEV) but not only that they had no-one trained , they are looking to get some training done and another garage equipped to carry out the work but the backlog will run into next year.

Still left them to look at the SOS Error and 22604557/5 so hopefully some good will result. Given the MHEV and PHEV electric Leon's have been out a while now surely dealerships should be ensuring they can provide adequate servicing and updates for these vehicles.

Will update late on the SOS issue.

Is the 90T4 only a software update? As I’m sure I’ve had that done a while ago on my etsi as dealer had no issues updating mine.

Turns out they were able to do 90T4 which is a campaign that seems to fall short of a recall, they've apparently done the TPI for 26004557/5 as well so lets see what happens
