Specification of OEM Xenon Bulbs for temp upgrade.

Every time I see aftermarket Xenon lights with an approx 8k temp, and of course some of the older Vauxhalls, Beemers etc with OEM Xenons, it makes me think that an OEM Xenon Bulb upgrade may be worth while.

Problem is I have no idea as to the specification of the OEM bulbs although I do know they are at an approx 6.5k temp. I think 8k would be better.

Anyone got any idea as to the spec of the OEM Xenon Bulb and where it would be possible to get replacement higher temperature bulbs?

OEM are normally 4300k, replacement bulbs are fine. Some Golf owners have done it. If I am honest I was looking to upgrade mine also to 6000k (like my previous aftermarket one's) as I think its just that little bit better than the OEM temp.

It's worth noting that the higher the K rating the less actual light output is produced.

4300K will produce more light output than 6000K & 6000K with produce more than 8000K.

6000K is a popular upgrade with it being a compromise between light output & looking good.

Bear in mind the car already has factory fit OEM Xenons as it is a Cupra. I just don't know which bulbs I would need if I am upgrading them.

its hard enough to replace the sidelights on the cupra, let alone taking off the whole bi xenon bit ! :(
