Hi Guys!

This is my first post.

I bought an Ibiza Formula Sport 4 months ago, since then I've only done 2000miles in it.

However, recently the backrest on the drivers seat squeaks when ever I move, it's coming from within the backrest. So I was wondering if anybody had suffered this and is it something that should be sorted out under warranty.

I was a little worried with having the unique seat fabric.

I also have a lot of rattles coming from the rear of car, perhaps in the boot lid?

Any advice would be greatly recieved

the squeekyseat will be covered under warranty and with reguards to the rattles in the back the parcel shelf rattles on its rest in some peoples cars try there first ;)

best thing for the squeaky seat is unclip the cloth cover and then lightly spray up inside workings with WD40

the boot rattles could be a loose spare wheel/jack or maybe the rear seat backrest is rattling on the quick release pegs.....

white grease may work a little better than wd 40 as wd 40 draws oil out of the joints ect and then drys up and can in some cases leave it worse and dry! white grease is water proof, slippery and doesnt evaporte so could be a better option

no offence nath as your a good lad just my 2p worth :)

^^^^^^none taken mate, TBH I fully agree with you on the WD40 thing, I just use the name as a generalisation so that people no that you mean to say get it lubed up

there are some lube sprays out there that are way better than WD40, I have a spray can of 3in1 and it seems very good and does not dry out but I still call it WD40 for some reason like I call my dyson a hoover :headhurt:

Thanks for the advice guys. How do I remove the cloth covering and where are these clips?

Is it an easy job?

Sorry for all the questions.

your the lucking one, my seat no longer moves so no one can get in the back via the driver door.

(i dropped coins down the side of the seat and now the seat is jammed on a pound coin)

i'll sort it when i get round to it.
