I had mine out and all i got was the air bag light which i re-set.

Did you leave the battery connected when you were doing it, as i did?

The only **** ups that can be made when taking the clocks out are:

Bending pins when reinstalling
not correctly fitting the plugs
Missing one of the plugs off

On some leons there are 2 plugs, on others there are 3:

A green one
A blue one
A black one - usually the immobiliser

Its very unusual for the immobilliser to become unsynced with the ecu when removing the dash panel.

Can you please explain the exact reason and proccess when you removed the clocks as your answers are quite erratic.

Have you used both keys on the car before?

Try re- doing the keys as before now that the dash is connected properly.

Key without buttons in the ignition on the 2nd click, or at least till all the lights on the dash come on without starting the engine. Key with buttons keep in your hand, get out of the car, then you lock and unlock manually whilst holding one of the buttons which is either lock or unlock, i cant remember.

You only have 30 secs to do this.

Ok

I removed the clocks to change the bulbs. Disconnected all the plugs. Changed my mind once i saw the layout of the clocks, so put them back in, connected all plugs back up. Then had all these problems

take the clocks back out and check the back of the dash pod, the holes where the plugs fit, make sure all the pins are in straight uniform lines, none are staggered, bent or crushed. Is yours the 2 or 3 plug version?

3 plug version

Checked the pins, all good

If you disconnect the dash insert on a Mk1 Leon you usually need to recode gateway (address word 19) with its orginal coding before it will start. For this you need diagnostic equipment.

it shouldnt require re-coding if its the origional pod as the coding is wrote to the internal memory of the eeprom. It would need re-coding if it was a substitute pod.
