Hmm,

I always thought it was :

SEAT 1318 T2

Eval Number (Thatcham) TC2 - 1115/0899

Hi,

I agree with Dormouse on this.

As I had the same problem a year ago as I'm with Tesco Insurance and they refused to believe that it was immobilised or alarmed.

In the end I phoned them up and quoted the following,

Seat 1318 T2

TC2 - 1115/0899

which means it's a Transponder Contact that Isolates 2 Circuits.

There's a link to a Vehicle listing PDF file on the the Security tab of the thatcham site.

Thatcham

The system is listed as CAT1 and is exactly as Dormouse says..

You can always point them in the direction of that if needs be.

Useful resourse for people who dont already know its there..

Cheers
Grahame

Not according to the thatcham listings.. Just going off what it says on there.

Does the Ibiza not have an alarm then?

Edit.. I stand corrected.. The code you have quoted is for a CAT1 system for the Ibiza which is available as an optional extra or retro fit device.

The standard system it quotes is CAT2 but is listed as TE2-1122/0899 ??

The Cupra R appears to have a standard fit alarm that is CAT1

I'm with Norwich Union Direct. When I got a quote for insurance i said that i had a standard cat 1 alarm, and they were happy to accept it.

HI all,

I just rang up my insurance company and quoted to the them the thatcham code for the ibiza cupra, as they only had my immobiliser listed as unapproved beforehand, and it made no difference to the cost of my policy whatsoever, which I thought was rather strange, I'm with Norwich union, has anyone else found this? Or is my insurance company wrong?

Thanks!!

click

A better link with the actual codes on.

and if your insureres, such as tesco want proof....Ring 0500222222 seat customer care, choose option 4, leave some details and they'll write to you saying what came as standard, and then you can post that off to tesco and they can put it in there pipe and smoke it!!!

I always liked the Mk 3 ICR's whn they first rocked up at dealers WITH NO ALARM OR IMMOBILIZER AT ALL :p

Think all R's are retrofit CAT 1 alarms, of whichi picked up a spare of ebay for not more that 5 english pounds....bargains to be had...

Lol..

Glad SEAT are providing paperwork though :)
